[Los Angeles] [超市美食] Hannam Chain Supermarket

Hannam Chain Supermarket

Stir Fried Vermicelli (US$2.18)

Seasoned Mung Bean Cake (US$2.00)

Sushi Roll (US$3.99)

Ho Bak Jook (US$1.00)

Seasoned Jelly Fish (US$1.68)

Seasoned Seaweed (US$1.55)

Seasoned Rice Cake (US$2.00)

  3. That Korean sushi.

You can find a similar one at another Korean market. I forgot the name of it but it's between 3rd Street and Beverly Blvd on Western Ave. If I remember correctly, at the corner of Western Ave. and 2th Street.

Its regular price is $3.99 a box but 50% off after 7pm. There are 3 different stuffings: BBQ beef, fish cake, and something that I haven't tried and do know the name. I personally love fish cake stuffing. If I'd be in the area on my way http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com after 7pm, I always get one for dinner.

The same market also has 50% off on other items (they are all by the open counter Panchan section). That glassy noodle is one. You should also try the potato salad. Koreans put a lot of eggs in the mix. I absolutely LOVE it!

On the hot food shelf you will find aluminum boxes with saucy reddish thingy inside. Try it if you don't mind spicy. It's fish cake sauted with sticky rice sticks. Very spicy but tastey. These shelved hot food items are also 50% off after 7pm.

    Happy eating!

  4. If you go after 8pm, most discounted items may be gone. But every time I go to the one I mentioned in my previous message, that noodle thing is always available. Quite a lot of people go for the 50% items though. YOu may have to be an early bird to catch them.

Oops, never mind the fish cake/rice stick dish. ;-)

I really like Korean glass noodle.
Hopefully next I go they'll have it.

  5. The only issue that I have with Korean food is that it all tastes like spicy, sesame oil, salty stuff to me. But I do love Korean food. Especially when it's very cold out.

    TO: Joanna
Korean food is best for cold days.
But I also like their cold noodle in the summer.

Thanks!

    TO: ikobaby
