Last stop of the night, my sister wanted to go to Half & Half Tea House to get a drink. She read good reviews about this Taiwanese style tea house.

薑母奶茶 Ginger Fresh Milk Tea / 波霸奶茶 Boba Milk Tea

This tea house is very small, and very crowded.  There are only a few tables inside, and they are all very close together.  My sister ordered Ginger Fresh Milk Tea, and I got a Boba Milk Tea.  There were a few people waiting for their drinks also.  And we waited 30 minutes for these 2 drinks!  30 minutes of just standing around for 2 drinks!!  I don't understand why it took so long for them to make a few drinks.  It was good, but definitely wasn't worth 30-minutes-wait good.

I like the tea.  And definitely would go back again... if it wasn't for the ridiculously long wait.

  1. I used to go to the half & half on 120 N San Gabriel Blvd
Ste H. San Gabriel, CA 91778. It's usually pretty crowded on weekend nights but take-outs don't take as long. During weekdays or before 9pm there isn't usually a line. =)

I'll have to check out that location when I'm in the area!
    Thanks for the info.

  2. they're probably busier at peak hours. Last time I went on a Sat. afternoon and it didn't take me that long to get my teas.

Yeah, they were pretty busy when we were there.
I think maybe 7 or 8 people waiting in front of us.
And the whole place was packed.
But EVERYONE was complaining about how long the wait was.

  3. yeah, san gabriel one is the original one and to go moving faster too.
but the one in MP is closer to me and it's actually cheaper but i don't understand why it took so long for my one drink either, 20 mins LOL
    but their milk tea's good!

    20 minutes for 1 drink? That's ridiculous.
I rather pay a few more dollars to save time.
Will check out San Gabriel store next time.

  4. You know what I suspect? They ran out of Boba and had to wait for a new batch to be cooked. It would be the only reason for Boba milk tea to take that long to make.

Maybe. But I also heard from other people about the same long wait.
Regular boba tea places only take about 2 minutes to make one.
But waiting for the boba to cook seems like the only logical explanation.
