Dr. P and I had dinner at Thai Bite when we first moved down to Aliso Viejo, and thought the food was delicious.  We  also got take-out for dinner one time, and were very happy with the food.  So we decided to try their lunch special.  They were pretty busy during lunch hour.  The group next to our table seemed to be quite unhappy about the long wait.  Finally they had to tell the waitress that they only had one hour for their lunch break and they needed to get back to work.  The waitress brought their food soon after, but it was the wrong orders.  They were short on time, so just settled with the food.  Hmmm.... dinner service was much better.

Soup

Lunch special came with a bowl of free soup.  It was some sort of rice noodle soup.  The soup tasted like starchy vegetable broth.

Pad Ga-Prow - Beef ($8.95)
Thai's favorite spicy stir-fried dish of aromatic Thai basils, fresh chili, bell peppers and vegetables with Chef's special ground chili and garlic seasoning.

Dr. P ordered Pad Ga-Prow with beef.  We liked how it had a lot of vegetable, and the flavor was good.  But the beef was way overcooked.  It was dry and chewy.

Pa Nang - Chicken ($8.95)
Your choice of meat blended with Thai red curry paste and coconut milk, enhanced with fresh peppers and Thai basil leaves.

I ordered Pa Nang, a.k.a. red curry with chicken.  The curry was much better than the beef.  The sauce was slightly spicy and delicious with rice.  Comparing to dinner, lunch portion was way smaller.  Normally I think lunch special has good values.  But for Thai Bite, I think paying $2 more and get double the portion for dinner might be a better deal.

We were quite disappointed with our lunch at Thai Bite.  We had this lunch in September.  It's been 3 months, and we haven't been back to the restaurant even though it's only 5 minutes away from our house.  Yeah, we were really disappointed.  Oh well, maybe we'll go back for their dinner one of those days.
