Entertainment Book is really awesome!  Because of it, we found a lot of great restaurants.  Original Pancake House was one of them.  It's so close to our house, and we didn't even know about it before!

We came on a weekday morning, and the restaurant was completely full.  People don't have to work around here?  But... we were also there.  haha....

Yum!  Look at all those specialty pancakes!  They all look really good, but we were more in the mood for salty breakfast that day.

Eggs Benedict ($10.50)
A toasted English Muffin topped with Canadian bacon, Poached Eggs and Homemade Hollandaise Sauce. Served with four Potato Pancakes or Toast.

Dr. P ordered his favorite Eggs Benedict.  Everything was done just right.  The eggs benedict tasted perfect.  For the side, Dr. P picked Potato Pancakes.  I love them!  It tasted like a cross between hash brown and pancake.  It was very soft, fluffy, but also had some crunchy texture to it.  Love it love it love it!

Apple Sauce & Sour Cream

Apple Sauce & Sour Cream for the potato pancake.  Dr. P likes it more with apple sauce, which made it sweet and salty.  I like mixing apple sauce AND sour cream all together because I want it all and I'm just greedy like that.  haha...

Western Omelette ($10.95)
Ham, Onions, Green Peppers and Sweet Red Bell Peppers. Served with your choice of Cheddar, Jack or Swiss Cheese. Served with Three Buttermilk Pancakes or Toast.

Western Omelette was bigger than huge.  How many eggs were in that Omelette?  Eight maybe??

Fluffy, soft and cheesy omelette full of ham and veggies.  It was sooooo good.  I only ate 1/4 and was full.

Buttermilk Pancakes

This was the BEST buttermilk pancakes I've ever had!  It was sooooo fluffy and light.  How did they make pancake THAT good?  After having a taste of this, I'm definitely going to order one of their specialty pancake next time.

The bill was before applying the buy 1 get 1 free coupon.  We LOVE this place.  Seriously hands down the best breakfast place in Orange County!  Can't wait to go back to try the pancake next time!

  1. I didn't know they had a location in Aliso Viejo. Their Anaheim location is the "original" pancake house and its always crowded. I haven't been there in at least 5 years and was surprised to see that their most famous dish, the apple pancakes (so good!), are $10.50 now. I was going to tease you about ordering non-pancake items, but I was glad to see that you sampled some. Now you got my appetite worked up for some of their pancakes----but served with warm maple syrup!

haha I know! I went to the Original "PANCAKE" House and didn't order pancakes.
That's like going to Lawry's to order fish. hahahaha....
So glad the omelette came with pancakes and I got to try it.
So the apple pancake is their most famous dish? I'm going to try that next time.
What was the price 5 years ago? I wonder if they open on New Year's day.
It would be a PERFECT start for a new year. haha...

  2. Go their website (or Yelp) to see photos of their apple pancakes so that you could decide if it would be something you might like (because they have so many other goodies). When I last had them they were only about $6.50 and I remember that they were thick, filled with cinnamon & lots of powder-sugar, and filled a huge plate.

We went today and tried the Apple Pancake!
    I'll write a review later today. :-)
