It's shopping time!  We were planning to hit Norstrom Rack at Laguna Hills Mall.  So we thought we'd grabbed lunch at the mall, too.  We looked up online to see what restaurants are in the mall.  Elephant Bar!  I haven't been to Elephant Bar for a long time.  I used to go to the one in West Covina with family all the time.  Also I have coupons.  Sounded like a perfect place for lunch.

One of the coupon I had was discount for the three dishes on their Chef Reinhard's Culinary Specials menu.  $6 off for the shrimp platter, and $4 off for the sirloin steak and shrimp combo.  Pictures for those dishes looked really good.  We decided to try them.

Ceasar Salad

We added $3 to make one of the meal a complete combo meal with salad and dessert.  Dr. P picked Ceasar Salad.  When our waitress brought the salad, Dr. P said, "this is a side salad?"  It was a big plate of side salad.  Pretty good Ceasar Salad.  The lettuce was fresh, cold and crisp.

Wood-Fired Beef Sirloin Steak and Shrimp Combo ($16.95 $12.95)
A 7 oz center cut beef sirloin steak, sliced to order, laced with ginger-soy mushroom sauce.  Accompanied with hardwood fired shrimp in creamy scampi sauce.  Served with garlic mashed potatoes and sauteed vegetables.

Dr. P's Wood-Fired Beef Sirloin Steak and Shrimp Combo came on a pretty leaf shaped plate.  The steak was cooked to a perfect medium.  Shrimp had a yummy creamy sauce on it.  Garlic mashed potatoes was fluffy and delicious.  Sauteed vegetable was good and healthy.  Everything on this plate was delicious.

Pacific Rim Shrimp Platter ($14.95 $8.95)
A combination of 5 large coconut shrimp, tempura shrimp and a bowl of wok-fired shrimp and vegetable stir-fry with a choice of steamed white or brown rice.  Served with zesty dipping sauces.

If you are a shrimp lover, definitely come for the Pacific Rim Shrimp Platter.  All that shrimp for $9!  What a good deal!  Not only there were a lot of shrimp, everything tasted great.  Tempura shrimp was really light.  The shrimp was huge.  Coconut Shrimp was super tasty with the spicy and sweet chili sauce.  Wok-fried shrimp with vegetable on top of brown rice was healthy and filling.  We love everything on this plate as well.

Mini Walnut Fudge Brownie

Mini Walnut Fudge Brownie was rich and soooo good with ice cream.  It wasn't exactly mini.  It was just the right size for two of us to share.

Delicious lunch!  Everything was so good.  Dr. P really likes this place.  They have a pretty good happy hour menu, too.  We want to come back to try their happy hour food and the $4 mojito next time.
