Sunbeam Breadmaker

I am really bad at baking. I never thought I would be able to make bread... until I found out this thing called "bread machine". From what I read, all you have to do is put all the ingredients into the machine, press a button, and then bread is done in a few hours. You don't even have to mix anything. It sounds amazing!

I picked Sunbeam 5891 2-Pound Programmable Breadmaker because it is the mid range bread machine with the highest reviews.  It's about $45 and has 12 cooking functions, which include basic, French, whole wheat, quick, sweet, ExpressBake 1-1/2 pound, ExpressBake 2 pound, dough, jam, cake, sandwich, and bake.

I also bought The Bread Lover's Bread Machine Cookbook.  There are 300 bread machine recipes inside the book, and it'll probably be the only bread machine cookbook you need.

My first bread machine bread was a simple Homestyle White Bread.  The recipe is under "orientation" section in the cookbook.  I got all the ingredients, and just like what I read, put everything in the machine, press a button, wait, then it's done.

Just look at that!  I still can't believe I made that.  I know, it's just a push on a button.  But I pushed the button so I made the bread!

Homemade bread tastes really good.  And I love that I know exactly what's in the bread.

I went all out and bought some "accessories" for my new hobby, bread making.  I store my http://www.eileenlikestoeat.commade bread in Progressive International Adjustable Bread Keeper.

And slice the bread with the help of Norpro 370 Bread Slicerand Guide with Crumb Catcher.

My sister came over one day and made zucchini bread for her with my bread machine.  She also thought bread machine is awesome and got one for herself.  She bought the $190 Zojirushi Home Bakery Supreme 2-Pound-Loaf Breadmaker.  After tasting the bread my sister made with her expensive machine, I could understand why that machine costs $150 more than mine.  The bread simply tastes AMAZING!  Zojirushi breadmaker always makes perfect bread!  If you have the money, get that one.  But if you are on a budget like me, Sunbeam does a good job, too.  My sister also bought The Ultimate Bread Machine Cookbook.  She made tons of bread from the cookbook, and I tried a few.  My favorite was a gogi berry bread.

I really like bread machine, and will recommend to people who would like to make bread at http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com.  You eat healthier because you can control what goes in your bread.  Freshly made warm bread is the best, and the aroma in the house is just wonderful!

  1. I used to have a bread machine. When I first got it, I was eager to make them all the time. After a while, it was just another item taking up space on the counter. :P

haha I guess I am still at the "eager" stage.
