Since we live so close to Diamon Jamboree plaza, I want to try all the restaurants in this plaza.  I have been asking Dr. P if he would like to try Thai Ritz for so many times.  But he read some really bad reviews about this place on Yelp, and wasn't too enthusiastic to try it.  We got a coupon 15% off at Thai Ritz.  Because of the discount, Dr. P finally agreed to go there with me for dinner.

Thai Iced Tea ($2.95)

Dr.  P ordered a Thai Iced Tea.  He said the one he had at Sam Woo was better.

Tom Yum Talay ($7.95)
Spicy seafood combination soup with kalanga, lemon grass, lime leaves, mushroom, and Thai herbs.

I was in the mood for something hot and spicy.  Tom Yum soup seemed like a perfect choice.  We ordered Tom Yum Talay, which is a seafood combination soup.  There was no seafood combination, just shrimp.  Other than that, the soup was great.  It was sour, and really really spicy!  But we like it really spicy.

Larb Gai Salad ($8.95)
Chicken minced, herbs & lemon sauce salad.

Larb Gai Salad was delicious.  It had lots of flavor from the herbs, spices, and lime juice.  We really liked this chicken salad.

Chilli Basil Pad Kapraw Pork ($8.95)
Stir fried mixed vegetables with garlic sauce and Thai herbs.

Chilli Basil Pad Kapraw Pork was a little disappointing.  The sauce was too sweet, and not spicy enough.  We couldn't taste any basil nor chili flavor.  But I do like there were so many different variety of vegetables in the dish.

There's an ice cream place called Stars Italian Gelato right inside Thai Ritz.  It's owned by the same owner.  Very interesting combination, Thai food and Italian gelato.  The gelato looked good.

Mango Gelato ($2.95)

We got a Mango Gelato to share.  We like the ice cream, but it didn't taste like gelato at all.  It wasn't creamy enough.

I don't think Thai Ritz is that bad.  It wasn't as good as the Thai food in Thai Town of course, but I do like their soup and salad.  As for their overly sweeten stir-fried dishes, we probably won't order those again.
