Eel Rice At Home

I like eel, but I rarely order eel rice in Japanese restaurant because it's expensive.  It's actually really easy to make eel rice at http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com.

We bought a pack of eel at Mitsuwa for about $6.  The eel was from Taiwan.  Eel from Japan was a little bit more expensive.  Also bought a bottle of eel sauce for about $3.

Eel Rice (Unagi Don)

I baked the eel in the oven.  You can also grill it if you like.  The eel already had a little bit of sauce on it.  But I like more sauce.  When the eel is done, just put it over white rice and add more unagi sauce if you like.  It's so easy to make.  We got leftover eel and I made eel fried rice the next day for lunch.

Broccoli and Tomato Salad

Also made a simple Broccoli and Tomato salad to balance the meal.  I blanched the broccoli and added a little bit of Korean spicy sauce to it.  It tasted like the broccoli banchan you get at Korean restaurant.  The cherry tomato came from my parents yard.  It was so sweet and juicy.  I added a little bit of mayo to it.

Try to make eel rice at http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com!  It's easy, delicious, and much cheaper than ordering in a restaurant.
