I saw on a TV commercial that Chili's is offering a 3 course meal for 2 people for $20.  Sounds like a good deal to me.  I came http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com after my classes on Tuesday.  It was almost 9pm and I was too tired to cook.  Dr. P said he didn't really eat dinner either.  So we headed to Chili's for a late dinner.

Kickin' Jack Nachos
Our kicked-up nachos with beans and queso with a hint of seasoned beef with jalapeño Jack cheese and Margarita spice. Served with house-made pico de gallo and sour cream.

The restaurant was pretty full at 9pm on a Tuesday night.  I think everybody ordered from the $20 promotion menu.  For our appetizer, we picked Kickin' Jack Nachos.  Our waitress brought the appetizer to us after giving us our entree first.  Hmmm....  Oh well.  The nachos were really good.  Between the tortilla chip and the melted cheese on top, there was beef and bean mixture.  The flavor was really good.

Half Rack of Ribs
Choose one half rack from all or our favorite flavors and your choice of one side. Choose from Original, Honey BBQ, Memphis Dry Rub or Honey-Chipotle.

When people mention Chili's, we always think of their commercial song, "I want my baby back baby back baby back".  Gotta get some baby back ribs at Chili's.  For one of the entree, we picked Half Rack of Ribs with original BBQ sauce.  The sauce was tangy.  Ribs were tender.  Mashed potatoes were good, too.

Grilled Shrimp Alfredo
Spicy garlic and lime shrimp over penne pasta tossed in creamy Alfredo sauce. Topped with diced tomatoes and Parmesan cheese served with garlic toast.

Grilled Shrimp Alfredo came with garlic bread.  We both like the garlic bread a lot.  The shrimp was grilled and a little spicy.  Delicious!  The alfredo sauce for the pasta was creamy and tasty.  This pasta dish really filled us up.

Molten Chocolate Cake
Warm chocolate cake with chocolate fudge filling. Topped with vanilla ice cream under a crunchy chocolate shell.

For dessert, I picked Molten Chocolate Cake.  Portion was huge.  This dessert should be enough for 4 people.  The chocolate cake was really rich with gooey chocolate oozing out in the middle.  The outer layer was a bit dry.  But for the price, I was happy with my cake.

With tax and tips, it came to $25 for the 3 course dinner for 2 people.  Food was great, and I like the price.  Will be back again to take advantage of the promotion.

  1. dont you think it's far driving from walnut to irvine often? I also live in irvine, but I want to take some classes at pomona, but with the high gas price...i wonder...

It's actually not that bad. It's about 30 miles for me to drive to school.
Good thing is that it's against traffic in the morning.
