On a Sunday afternoon, we wanted to explore the city of Irvine a little.  We found a nearby park, Woobridge Community Park, from the internet.  We thought it's just a small community park.  But this park was HUGE!  There's even a lake and lagoon in the middle of the park.  We actually walked for 3 hours!  When we got back to the parking lot, we saw a shopping center right next to the park and walked over to see if there's a place to eat.

There's a Ruby's Diner in the plaza, and I happened to have a coupon from them with me.  Perfect!

It was about 3pm in the afternoon.  The restaurant was about 80% full.  We were quickly seated.  But after that, service was a little bit slow.

This was the view from our seat.  This is actually another park, not the park we went to.  But there's also a lake in this park.  Beautiful!

Whenever I go to a diner, I always want to have a milkshake.  Ruby's Dinner offered 20 different flavors!  It was hard to choose just one.

Vanilla Black Cherry Deluxe Shake ($4.49)

We finally picked Vanilla Black Cheery.  The shake was handmade.  The tin cup had about another 1/2 glass of milkshake in it.  The shake was super delish!

The Rubyburger ($8.49)
The Original!  Still simple and delicious!  1/3 lb fresh ground beef.  An All-American classic for 25 years!

The coupon I had was "buy 1 entree get 1 Rubyburger for free".  The Rubyburger was a simple hamburger.  Beef, cheese, tomato and lettuce.  Just those 4 ingredients, but it was so tasty.  This seriously was one good hamburger.

American Kobe Chopped Steak ($11.99)
10 oz of our super-premium American Kobe beef smothered with sauteed mushrooms in a Burgundy wine sauce.

American Kobe Chopped Steak sounded really good from the description on the menu.  It wasn't bad, but it was really salty.  We just had some salty lasagna a few days earlier.  We couldn't help but wonder, do Orange County people prefer their food saltier?  We didn't eat much of the chopped steak, and I made fried rice with the leftover the next day.  It tasted much better that way, and not too salty anymore.

After applying the coupon, our bill came to be just under $20.  I'd come back again for their burger and shake for sure!
