I had midterms for 3 weeks straight.  Finally finished the last midterm on Tuesday night, and went to my parent's house early.  Dad went out for dinner with friends.  I happened to have a $10 off coupon for Red Lobster which expires in 2 days, and a $25 gift card also.  I asked mom if she would like to go to Red Lobster for dinner, and she was happy.

Cheddar Bay Biscuits

Red Lobster has the best Cheddar Bay Biscuits.  I found the recipe online.  I am really horrible at baking.  But this recipe looks simple enough.  Maybe I'll challenge myself and give it a try at http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com.

Lobster Pizza ($9.75)
A crisp thin-crust pizza topped with langostino lobster meat, melted mozzarella cheese, fresh tomatoes and sweet basil.

Lobster Pizza is my mom's favorite appetizer from Red Lobster.  I gotta order one for her.  I like the thin crispy crust because that also means less carb.  There were chunks of lobster meat, tomato, basil, and lots of cheese on the pizza.  Mom kept on saying she would get too full, but she ate 3 big pieces because it was that good.

Salad

Entree comes with salad.  We both picked garden salad.  Vegetables were crispy and fresh.  I tried not to eat the crouton to cut down calories.

Oven Broiled Atlantic Salmon (half) ($15.50) with Mediterranean Shrimp Topping ($2.99)

We haven't been to Red Lobster for a while.  I noticed they have downsized their entree plate.  Portion is definitely smaller now.  Mom ordered fresh Atlantic Salmon, oven broiled prepared.  She also added the optional $2.99 Mediterranean Shrimp Topping.  The topping had 5 shrimp cooked with tomato and basil in a olive oil lemon sauce.  The salmon was quite good with the sauce.  We were really surprised at how fluffy and soft their baked potato was.  Mom said it was the best baked potato she's ever had.

Create Your Own Festival of Shrimp ($11.99)
Wood-Grilled Pecan-Crusted Shrimp & Shrimp Linguini Alfredo

I ordered Create Your Own Festival of Shrimp, and chose Wood-Grilled Pecan-Crusted Shrimp and Shrimp Linguini Alfredo.  Peacan-Crusted shrimp also came with rice pilaf.  It was sweet, very sweet.  I didn't expect it to be that sweet, and didn't really like it.  Shrimp Linguini Alfredo is always my favorite from Red Lobster.  It's so fat, creamy, and good.  haha....

This gotta be the longest bill ever!  After applying the $10 off coupon and $25 gift card, our final bill came to $8.18.  $44.15 - $35.00 = $9.15.  I have no idea how they calculated it to $8.18?!?!  Oh well.  Mom enjoyed dinner, but somehow I felt the food at Red Lobster wasn't as good as before.  Not only that, portion has become much smaller.  But I'm still happy with the cheap cheap dinner with all that discount applied.

  1. It's calculated by:
    $40.23 - $10 coupon = $30.23 + tax = $33.18 - $25 gift card = $8.18

Oh..... that's how they got $8.18. Thanks.

  2. ok i got it
they subtract the $10 coupon first
    40.23 - 10 = 30.23
then they use this to calculate the tax...30.23*0.0975= 2.95
    2.95+30.23-25 = 8.18

    ...ok...i don't know why i'm doing this...hahaha

    haha you're so cute Joanna!
Thank you for figuring it out for me.
Just think that you did it to exercise your brain. ^^
