After a somewhat disappointed dinner, as we were strolling around South Coast Plaza, we saw Lawry's Carvery.  Lunch #2?  Why not?

We haven't been to Lawry's in Beverly Hills for the longest time.  Lawry's Carvery is like a fast food version of Lawry's. You place the order at the counter, pay, get a number, find a seat, and a server will bring the food to your table.

Roasted Prime Rib Platter Meal ($19.99)
Au jus and creamy horseradish. Eight Ounce $19.99. Twelve Ounce $26.99. Available Buffet Style or Individual.

Since we just had lunch, we got a 8 ounce Roasted Prime Rib Platter to share among the 3 of us.  The meal came with cole slaw and a choice of side order.  We ordered the prime rib medium-well, the way mom likes it.  The prime rib was soft and tender.  We all like it a lot.  Cole slaw was alright.  Mashed potato was creamy and tasty.  But where is the au jus and horseradish?

I used the seasoned salt and seasoned pepper for my meat.  It was good.  Maybe I'll buy those to use at http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com.

So I asked mom and sister, if you have $20, would you go to Marche Moderne for the 3 course lunch, or would you go to Lawry's for prime rib?  They both chose Lawry's Carvery.  I think I would, too.

  1. This is such a brilliant idea to have this fast-food style under your high-end restaurant. Customers do not need to make appoinments, dress up, and drive all the way to Beverly Hills all the time, but still able to have prime ribs from Lawry's! Oh yeah~

I know! I love it. It's fast, convenient, and cheaper.
I don't mind going to the mall just to have Lawry's prime rib.
