Amputated Kitty

We did an amputation surgery in class on Tuesday.  This poor kitty was born with a defect.  His left front leg was twisted inward and very rigid.  He couldn't use the leg to do anything.  And since his elbow is sticking out, it rubbed on the ground or bumped into things.  The would actually would cause more problems such as infection.  This poor kitty was abandoned.  Our teacher, who is also a vet, found a friend that adopted the kitty.  His name is Handy..... kinda funny and cute!  Watching the amputation surgery was.... uh.... scary but eyeopening.  I am sure Handy will do well in recovery, and he will have a happy normal life as a 3 legs cat.  Isn't he adorable?

  1. So sad....but this kitty is very lucky to have people who care about him. I wonder how he will walk around without that leg? The good thing is that cats sleep most of the time.

A lot of handicapped animals do perfectly fine.
I've seen dog with only two back legs. He hops around and is a happy dog.
I've seen blind + deaf dog, and he's the friendliest dog ever.
This little kitty is very lucky to find someone who cares about him. ^^
