We came to Slater's 50/50 Burgers with a $20 Groupon.  I read all about this burger place when I first moved down to Orange County.  People rave about their 50% beef 50% bacon burger.  When I saw the groupon deal, I bought the $20 certificate for $10 without any hesitation.

There was a GT-R parked right in front of the restaurant when we arrived.  We saw a few people admiring the car.  I don't know much about cars.  Personally I thought this car was alright.  I just noticed the rim was huge and really shining.  Dr. P told me it's a pretty rare and expensive car.  So there... this photo is for you car people out there.  haha....  (Oh wait... I've seen the same car before!)

The bar area was pretty busy with people drinking beers and cocktails.

This place has TVs everywhere.  There's a different sport playing on each TV so there's something for everyone to watch.

Fresh Squeezed Lemonade ($2.95)

Fresh Squeezed Lemonade was great.  Not too sour.  Dr. P also ordered a bottle of Stone IPA beer.

Sweet Potato Fries / Fried Artichoke Hearts ($5.95)

We ordered 2 items combination for the fried goods.  We chose sweet potato fries and fried artichoke hearts.  Maybe not too many people order the artichoke hearts?  But they really piled on the order.  The artichoke hearts was good, but the sweet potato fries was even better.  There were 3 kinds of dipping sauces, pumpkin, ranch, and sage.  The sweet potato fries went so well with the pumpkin sauce.  Artichoke hearts was best with ranch.  The sage sauce was just alright.  It was creamy and a bit heavy.

The 50/50 ($9.95)
Designed to perfection our 50/50 burger with an over medium fried egg, avocado, pepper jack cheese and chipotle mayo

Here is the famous The 50/50.  We order 1/3 pound burger with white bun.

The burger was well done, but looked a little pink because of the bacon.  At first we thought 50% bacon might be a bit much.  It turns out that the bacon bits in the burger gave it that smoky flavor without overpowering it.  It was really good.  Love the egg and guacamole, too.  Their bun is so fluffy and soft.  Delicious!

The Flamin' Hot ($9.95)
Spice things up with our signature fire beef burger, onion strings, fire roasted green chili's, pepper jack cheese and chipotle mayo

We also ordered a 1/3 pound of The Falmin' Hot on white bun.

We really didn't expect this burger to be THIS spicy!  It was truly flamin' hot.  The burger had tiny bits of jalapeno in it.  There was fire roasted green chilies on top of the patty, plus their spicy chipotle mayo.  It was hot, and it was great!

This place is very similar to The Counter, where you can customize your own burger.  Dr. P thought Slater's 50/50 is better than The Counter.  The burgers here are huge.  We both only ate 1/2 burger and was stuffed.  We like this place, and will return again to try more of their burgers.

No, I haven't tried the one in Pasadena.
But I've tried the original Counter in Santa Monica many times.
