It was the end of the month, so we were tight on budget.  We wanted cheap eats, but forget about unhealthy fast food.  What about seafood?  Cheap and tasty fish!  We heard good things about California Fish Grill.  So off we went.



California Fish Grill is a semi-fast food type of restaurant.  You place the order at the counter, pay, grab a number stand, and someone will bring the food to your table when it's ready.  The deco has a "pub" feel to it.  Atmosphere was very lively.




There is a self served salsa bar.  The spicy tomato salsa was so good!  There were also tartar sauce, cilantro and lime.


Charbroiled White Ruffy ($7.99)
Cajun style, brown rice, cole slaw, and bread.

There are seafood taco, burrito, salad, and fried seafood on the menu.  But we both went for the charbroiled fish.  You can choose Cajun style, or garlic butter sauce with the fish.  Every plate comes with cole slaw and bread.  The carb choices are rice or fries.  If you like, you can even order half rice and half fries.  My plate was Cajun style white Ruffy with brown rice.  This was a HUGE piece of fish.  It was cooked perfectly.  So moist and soft.  The Cajun seasoning was slightly spicy, and went very well with rice.  I sprinkled a lot of cilantro on my fish, with a squeeze of lemon juice,  it was soooooo good!  Cole slaw was tasty.  The portion was just right, too.


Charbroiled Salmon ($8.99)
Garlic butter sauce, French fries, cole slaw, and bread.

Dr. P got Charbroiled salmon with garlice butter sauce and French fries.  There were two big pieces of salmon on the plate.  All that for $8.99?  What a bargain!  Again, the fish was cooked perfectly.  Garlic butter sauce was quite tasty.  It was perfect with the French fries.  The garlic butter sauce dripped down from the fish, made the fries "garlic butter fries".  So yummy!

We love this place!  When didn't we come here sooner?  We spend about the same amount of money going to fast food restaurant.  Why not come here for some healthier and tastier seafood?  We will be back soon to try more of their fish!
