I brought http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com a 2-items lunch combo from Thai & Chinese Express once before. Dr. P loved it. Since then he had gone back a few times to pick up the combo meal to bring to work. One night I was feeling lazy and asked Dr. P to bring some food on his way back http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com from work. When Dr. P suggested Thai & Chinese Express, I immediately said, "YES! Pad Thai!!"
Pad Thai w/ Chicken ($6.25)
I had a sudden craving for Pad Thai for some reason. Dr. P didn't like pad thai. He said pad thai always tastes too sweet for him. I ate the pad thai, and couldn't stop eating it. It wasn't all that sweet at all. It was savory with just a little bit of sweetness, spicy, and a little sour from lime juice. It was a very very good pad thai. At first Dr. P didn't even want to try it. But I insisted that he needed to try a few bites. He ended up loving it, too.
Green Curry Chicken ($6.25)
They only offer 2-item combo for lunch. Everything is a la carte for dinner. Dr. P loves their Green Curry Chicken ever since the first time he tried it. I also agree that Thai & Chinese Express has really really good green curry. I can eat so many bowls of rice just with that green curry sauce.
Portion is big. This was enough food for 2~3 meals for both of us. The price is very cheap. Great cheap eats in Irvine!

Good for you, I am still trying to find good and cheap Thai food in my neighborhood.

Eileen, next time you or Dr. P can ask if they can make other dishes. The lady once told me that as long as they have the ingredients, they will make any special dish you like - Thai boat noodles, prik khing pork, etc. to the Thai level of spiciness. You may have to wait a bit tho for it, but it's worth it.

Actually they made the Pad Thai after I ordered, too.
I could hear the lady cooking the wok from the kitchen.
Too bad we're a bit far from this place now.
