[Aliso Viejo] [Thai] Siamese Express

Siamese Express
26952 La Paz Rd #C
Aliso Viejo, CA 92656

We felt like having Thai food for dinner. We used to like Thai Bite. But ever since we had a not so satisfying lunch there, we never had the desire to go back again. A quick search on Yelp, we found Siamese Express.

Siamese Express is more of a take out place, although they do have a few tables inside, and a nice looking patio. We opted to dine there, while almost everybody else came in for take-out. This place is run by a Thai couple. The husband works behind the counter, and the wife is the cook.

Larb (Ground Chicken or Pork) ($7.59)

For appetizer/salad, we ordered Dr. P's favorite Chicken Larb. Taking one bite of this dish, we knew instantly this place is authentic. They don't tone the flavor down for this majority white people area at all. This dish was spicy, sour, and savory. It was spicy enough to make my nose running. Dr. P loved this dish, and said it tasted just like the kind he had at LA's Thai Town.

Chicken Curry with Bamboo Shoots ($7.59)

Chicken Curry with Bamboo Shoots was sooooooo good with rice. I love the red curry sauce. They also have a green curry version that I want to try next time.

Pad Thai (Thin Rice Noodle, Bean Sprout, Egg, Chicken) ($7.99)

I was feeling like having Pad Thai, and insisted that we order it. Dr. P is not a fan of Pad Thai though. He thought Pai Thai always tastes too sweet for his taste. For some reason, he actually liked Siamese Express' Pad Thai. It was still consider a "sweeter" noodle dish, but not too sweet. I like it even more with hot chili sauce. Delicious!

Very glad we found this little eatery. Their price is reasonable, portion is generous, and service is friendly. I like eating there at the restaurant. But when we are in the mood for Thai food take out, we would also get it from Siamese Express.
