[Aliso Viejo] [Coffee/Tea] Boba Me Baby (CLOSED)

Boba Me Baby
22912 Pacific Park Drive #B
Aliso Viejo, CA 92656
(CLOSED)

We live in the city of Aliso Viejo. My friend Amy also works in Aliso Viejo. We often talked about how we wish there is a boba place around here. One day Amy discovered Boba Me Baby near her work. She was so excited when she told me about it. She tried their boba milk tea slushy, and thought it was pretty good. So Dr. P and I went there on a Friday night to try.

Since they had a completely wrong address on a wrong street listed on Yelp, Dr. P drove around the area for at least 15 minutes. Finally we figured out the location from a Yelp reviewer's comment. The place was empty, and super loud music was blasting. There were 4 workers working that night.  I was used to seeing Asians working in boba places, but all the workers at Boba Me Baby were young Caucasian kids.

The guy at the counter was very friendly and helpful. He greeted me with a big smile. I browsed through their menu quickly, and couldn't even find the most ordinary boba milk tea. There were fancy stuff like lavender milk tea, royal milk tea, taro milk tea... etc, but no regular plain milk tea? I asked the guy about it, and he said it wasn't on the menu but they can make one for me.

One minute later, a small boba milk tea was in my hand, and Dr. P paid $5 for it. $5! Seriously? For a small cup of boba milk tea? This better be some premium boba milk tea!

I took a sip, and let Dr. P took a sip. We looked at each other, and I think Dr. P mumbled some curse words. First, the boba was undercooked so it was hard. Then the milk tea tasted very powdery. Also it was way too water down. Powdery watery milk tea with undercooked hard boba for $5? Our conclusion was we would rather drive 15 minutes to Irvine to get milk tea than to come back here again.

So when I googled Boba Me Baby for their address while writing this post, I found out there were closed.  The business only survived one month. How sad! Yeah, the boba milk tea was pretty bad, but at least the workers were nice and friendly. I feel bad for them though.

  1. Oh no! $5 for milk tea?!? Yikes. I've been looking for milk tea south of Irvine - but maybe it's better if it's further away? It saves me from all those calories! :)

I used to drink boba milk tea ALL THE TIME when I lived in Irvine.
I thin I gained 15 pounds in that one year. haha....
