We haven't had Indian food for a while. I haven't really seen any Indian restaurant down in South Orange County. I did a search online and found Natraj Cuisine of India to be closest to our home. I've been to Natraj in Irvine Marketplace a few times, and thought their food was pretty good. I like how that location has the 1, 2, or 3 items combo.

Unlike the fast food restaurant setting at Irvine location, Laguna Hills' Natraj is a more formal sit-down restaurant. We went for their lunch buffet for $10.99/person.

Nann

Our waiter brought us some Nann bread. Nothing too memorable about the bread here.

Lunch Buffet ($10.99/person)

The lunch buffet consisted of about 6 vegetarian dishes and 3 meat dishes (tendo0ri chicken, chicken tikka masala, and curry chicken). I thought the price is on the higher side for how little the buffet is (comparing to other Indian lunch buffet we've been to). The vegetarian dishes were all very good. I like how they make their food a little spicy. The meat dish had good sauce, but the chicken were dry and overcooked.

Of my second plate, I got all vegetarian dishes with a piece of tendoori chicken leg to try. The tendoori chicken was so much better than the other to chicken dishes. The meat was very soft and flavorful.

Fruit / Dessert

Dr. P got some rice pudding for dessert. They also had that yucky rosewater cheese ball thing I hate. I got some fruit, and the watermelon didn't taste fresh at all.

Overall, we thought the food was just average. We've had much better Indian food before. And I think their Irvine location has much better food. I wish we had more choices of Indian restaurants down in South OC. :-(
