We love Elephant Bar's happy hour between 4pm to 7pm. We just have to make sure to get there early enough to get a table. This place is always filled with senior citizens ready to party. It just makes us smile when we see so many happy old people. Dr. P made a promise to me that he'll still take me to Elephant Bar for happy hour when I'm 80. haha....

House Margarita ($3.00) / Classic Mojito with Cruzan Estate Rum ($4.00)

I ordered House Margarita, and Dr. P ordered Classic Mojito. We ended up switching drinks because I thought the Margarita was too strong, and Dr. P thought the Mojito wasn't strong enough.

Caesar Side Salad

We decided to order couple happy hour items, as well as one entree to share. To make an entree into a three course meal is only $3 extra, then you get a salad and dessert with the entree. Pretty good deal. We picked Caesar salad. It was icy cold and good start for our early dinner.

Mozzarella with Bruschetta Tomatoes ($4.00)

Happy hour appetizer time! Dr. P wanted to try Mozzarella with Bruschetta Tomatoes. I thought it would just be some tomatoes with cheese on top of some toasted baguette, but it wasn't like that at all. The bread they used was toasted pita. The tomato had tons of garlic in it, which made it just a little spicy and delicious. Well, don't order this if this is your first date and you plan to kiss your date later though. haha.... The Mozzarella was sitting on top of some balsamic vinegar, and sprinkled with black pepper and basil. The addition of creamy avocado was great. It's like a twisted version of the classic Italian dish, but tastes even better than the original in my opinion. We love this one, and will order it again next time.

Wok-Fired Chicken & Lettuce Wrap ($5.00)

We wanted to try Wok-Fired Chicken & Lettuce Wrap because last time we were here, we saw almost every table had one of those. Must be good, and it indeed was. The chicken was flavorful and light. We put some chicken with veggies on top of crisp fresh lettuce, topped with some of that delicious mango salsa and a bit of the peanut sauce, soooo good that way. I can eat this plate for a light and healthy meal.

Quick Seared Ahi Tuna with Ponzu ($6.00)

Quick Seared Ahi Tuna with Ponza was Dr. P's favorite item from Elephant Bar. He always orders this one. The tuna was seared perfectly on the outside. It tastes the best when dip it in the ponzu sauce, and eat with the seaweed salad (underneath the tuna in the pic).

Full Rack of Kona BBQ Pork Ribs Three Course ($15.95)

We had a coupon for the Full Rack of Kona BBQ Pork Ribs. I think it was about $4 off. The meat was tender and tasty, but I thought it needed more sauce. It just felt kinda dry without sauce on the ribs. Cole slaw was good, and the hot apple was really really good. THe ribs also came with some chili, which was a bit salty for my taste. We were so full from the happy hour appetizers, and ended up taking most of this plate home for dinner the next night.

Wonton Sundae

Wonton Sundae for dessert. I don't really eat the fried wonton skin. Just love the vanilla ice cream with chocolate fudge.

Good deal and good meal at Elephant Bar. Definitely be back soon for more happy hour!

  1. I love happy hours! What a cute tradition for you guys. :)

    Happy hour is the best!
Not only you get to eat for cheaper price,
eating an earlier dinner is actually healthier in my opinion.
