One of Dr. P's aunt came to visit from East Coast so we had a small family gathering. Uncle P took us to Osaka Seafood Buffet for a late Sunday lunch.

Osaka looked like a very big restaurant from outside. And it was quite big inside, too. They have a fancy looking lobby area with koi pond. Lots of kids hanging around the pond looking at fish and turtles. Weekend price is $16.99/person. They have a salad station, cold seafood station, sushi station, hot food station, Mongolian BBQ station, and dessert station. The food looked really good at first glance.

Buffet ($16.99/person)

My first plate was mostly sushi. Their sushi were all fresh and very good. They even have sashimi! I didn't see the sashimi before taking the sushi. Otherwise I would've opted for just fish without the rice. Their cocktail shrimp was also very good. Snow crab leg was just ok. It tasted really salty and watery. Inside the shell there were barely any meat.

Hot and Sour Soup

A bowl of hot and sour soup. I liked how they added a lot of mushroom in their soup.

Seafood

Everyone got a big plate of seafood, except me. Dr. P had lots of oyster and said it was good. So I tried one. Lucky me! My oyster was disgusting. It had a very very strong fishy smell and tasted yucky. Dr. P's cousin also got a disgusting not fresh oyster. After that, I refused to eat any more of their oyster. Then Dr. P got a piece of gross snow crab leg. It smelt and tasted like throw up. It also made his hands smell super yucky. I don't think their seafood is all that fresh. You have to try your luck.

Hot food

Everyone was laughing at me for getting a plate of cheap hot food. They were telling me that I need to get seafood and sushi to get my money worth. Dr. P's cousin told me that P family's buffet rule is if you can make it at home, don't get it. Only eat stuff you cannot cook at home. haha.... That's funny, but make sense. I did enjoyed my plate of hot food more than the yucky cold seafood though. They also had prime ribs. But it looked like it had been sitting there for a long time so I didn't get it.

Crab

Auntie got a plate of crab and give it to me. She told me I should eat things like this. haha.... But by the time I finished my hot food plate, I was too full. So I still didn't eat the crab. I don't think I got my money worth at all that day.

Ice Cream and Fruit

I liked their frozen yogurt with lychee added.

Dessert

I got bunch of dessert for sharing. Nothing was that good. The star shape pastry was pineapple cake. Dr. P loved it.

Dessert Soup

I liked their hot dessert soup with white ear mushroom, gogi berries, dates, and peanuts a lot. It wasn't that sweet, and had lots of healthy ingredients in it.

Food-wise, this place is ok. Sushi was great, and everything else was alright. But we all had a good time hanging out with the family. It was more about being with the family more than the food that day so we all still enjoyed our lunch at Osaka.
