[Cook] Avocado Hot Dog Sandwich

I received a package in the mail. It was delivered via overnight express shipping. I had no idea what was inside the package.

Inside the brown box, there was another box inside. Hand grown avocado in California?

It was a gift from FoodBuzz and California Avocado Commission!

Let's see what was inside the goodie box.

Inside the box, I found 5 avocados, 3 magnets, and 1 avocado cutter/scoop.

There's also a recipe card for Avocado Pasta Salad. It looked pretty yummy, and I have all the ingredients on hand already. So I'll make this one for sure... maybe tomorrow?

The first thing I made with the avocado was a sandwich. I didn't take pictures so I'll just describe. It was a hot dog "sandwich". I know this sounds strange, but yup, it was a "sandwich". My dad used to make this for us for breakfast. The sandwich is made with 2 pieces of toasts, 1 piece of American cheese, 1 fried egg (put the hot fried egg on top of the cheese and the cheese will melt!), 1 hot dog (cut in half length-wise, but don't cut it all the way through; cook in frying pan on both side - inside and outside), and any condiment you like (I used honey mustard). Then I topped the sandwich with some sliced avocado. The avocado was creamy and so fresh. Love it! Any sandwich automatically tastes 10 times better with some avocado added in my opinion.

More yummy avocado recipe coming soon! Thanks, Foodbuzz and California Avocado Commission!
