Taiwanese Meatball

Thanks to my Plurk friend Ruby for those delicious Taiwanese meatballs. She found the vendor that provides Taiwanese meatballs to Taiwanese restaurants. They offer wholesale price if people place large order. Ruby asked if anyone was interested in ordering the Taiwanese meatballs, and ended up ordering about 300 meatballs.


肉圓 Taiwanese Meatballs ($1.60) / 雞捲 Chicken Roll ($3.00) / 香腸 Taiwanese Sausage ($5.00)

I ordered 12 Taiwanese meatballs, 2 chicken rolls, and 2 Taiwanese sausage.  Half of them are for my parents.  The Taiwanese meatballs were freshly made and ready to eat when I picked them up.  Chicken rolls and sausages were frozen.

Dr. P and I both tried a meatball when we got http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com. Dr. P had one of those at a Taiwanese restaurant before, and he didn't like it.  But he was willing to give it another try.



Inside the gooey chewy boba like skin, there were pork, mushroom, and bamboo shoots.  The red sauce was a bit sweet and a tiny hint of spiciness.  This was one yummy Taiwanese meatball.  I love it!  Even Dr. P liked it.  He said somehow this one tasted different than the one he had before, and much much better.

We had two more for breakfast today.  I heated up the meatballs in microwave with wet paper towel to keep the skin soft and chewy.  It was good breakfast.  Going to bring some to my parents today.  Hope they'll like it, too.  Thank you, Ruby!
