It was my first time using this bread machine. Also it was my first time using her recipe book, The Ultimate Bread Machine Cookbook. I decided to make the most basic White Bread to get a feel for this machine. The amount of ingredients called for was quite different than my cookbook, The Bread Lover’s Bread Machine Cookbook.
White Bread
My Sunbeam 5891 2-Pound Programmable Breadmaker has the option of making 1.5 lb or 2 lb loaf, but this new bread machine can only make 2 lb loaf. I didn't realize that and only added ingredients for 1.5 lb loaf. So the bread came out lopsided.
One thing I noticed right away was this bread machine makes bread with really crunchy crust, but soft top. I thought this white bread tasted a little drier than the one I made from my old recipe book, but it was still good.
My sister made always every recipe in her cookbook, and said everything tasted delicious. My plan is to make at least 1 bread per week alternating between her cookbook and my cookbook. :-)

Maybe why the bread also tasted different as you added less ingredients while the bread still probably baked for the amount of time for the 2 pound to cook.

Maybe that's right the bread tasted a little drier.
now that u mentioned it, all the bread/loaf i made had a crunchy crust which is the way i like it, but remember the ginger bread i made?

That ginger bread was soooo good, except the ginger taste. haha...
I think I'll make that one again but with less ginger... a lot less.
