Sister said she drove by this new plaza on Atlantic, and seemed like new stores are opened now.  We went there after lunch to walk around a bit.  So many restaurants in this plaza that we want to try.  This new Asian plaza looked and felt more like an American mall, sorta like that outdoor mall in Pasadena.

仙草拌奶 Grass Jelly with Milk ($4.50) /
荔枝綠茶&情人果 Litchi Green Tea + Green Mango ($4.25)

We stopped by at Ten Ren's Tea Time to get a drink and snack.  This new shop was bright, a little too bright maybe.  The afternoon sunshine was right in our eyes and felt uncomfortable.  We ordered our drinks and an order of Salt & Pepper Chicken Nugget (茶香鹽酥雞) ($4.50) for to go.  We waited for a good 10 minutes.  During this 10 minutes, I was looking at other people's food.  The food looked really good.  Also I learned that "Michael" must be the newest employee there.  There were one girl, one guy, and "Michael" working in the front.  The whole time I just heard the girl and the guy yelling, "Michael, go do this."  "Michae, go do that."  "Michael, Michael, Michael...."  Poor Michael!  So we waited and waited, then I saw our drinks and food was just sitting at the counter.  The girl and the guy was busy telling Michael to do things, and Michael was too busy doing things, so nobody told us our food was ready.  I went up to the counter and grabbed the drinks and chicken nugget myself, while the girl asked, "Yours? Ok."

Grass Jelly with Milk was SUPER good!  There were also yummy boba in the drink.  The milk tea was very milky.  I love this drink.  My sister got Litchi green tea with green mango.  The tea was good, and there were little pieces of green mango in the tea.  The amount was soooo small.  It was probably from 1 thin strip piece of green mango.  It was good, but definitely not worth $4.25.  The chicken nugget wasn't that good.  We asked for medium spicy, but it was more like a extreme spicy.  The chicken pieces were small, not very meaty, and kinda dry.  Also the Chinese name on the menu said it was tea infused chicken nugget, but we couldn't taste any tea flavor at all.

I really like my Grass Jelly with Milk drink.  Will come back for that.  Service probably needs improvement.  Maybe we'll come back to try their yummy looking food next time.
