I read about The Neighborhood Cup on Yelp, and had been meaning to pay this independently owned coffee shop a visit.  We have so many Starbucks around here.  It's nice to see a local coffee shop in this town.

The coffee shop is right next to Aliso Viejo library.  There was only one lady working.  She was so busy taking orders, making coffee and tea, making food, and just doing everything all by herself.  Service was a little slow.  But seeing how busy she was, plus she was super nice and friendly, I didn't mind waiting at all.

Lavender Latte ($4.05)

I browsed their menu, and Lavender Latte caught my attention right away.  It was a really good cup of latte, with a very subtle hint of lavender.  I love it!

Grilled Turkey & Cheese Sandwich ($4.65)

They used to serve gourmet sandwiches and panini, but recently changed the food menu to simple grilled sandwiches and bagels.  I got a grilled turkey & cheese sandwich, and it was very good.  I like the crunchy outer layer of the bread.  The sandwich also came with a small cup of fruit. Pineapple, honeydew melon and grapes.  Everything was really sweet.

Apple Danish ($2.95)

The nice lady heated up the Apple Danish for me.  The warm pastry smelt so good, and tasted even better.  Love it!

I really like this coffee shop.  Good coffee, good food, good pastry, and great service.  Just got a library card from Aliso Viejo library.  I will visit this coffee shop every time I go to the library.

  1. Eileen, I visited the Costco in Los Alamitos yesterday and got a hot dog, churro, and very-berry sundae (I blew my diet!). The hot dog was good (but they're always served a little too cold---next time I will take it http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com and reheat it) and so was the churro. But my sundae was fantastic and the strawberry syrup was every bit as tasty as I remembered----even the soft-serve vanilla tasted much better than I recalled. I hadn't been to a Costco's food stand for awhile and noticed that they now sell some kind of baked Mexican wrap filled with meat, salsa, etc (it looked like a baked burrito). It cost $3.75, which is kind of pricey for a Costco item, but I will try it the next time. I really enjoyed that strawberry sundae---which is better & bigger than what McDonalds/Tasty Freeze serves.

You're talking about the carne asada bake, right?
We ALWAYS get that one. It's really really good. Much much better than their chicken bake.
You should try that next time... with a strawberry sundae of course. :-)
