[Shopping] Naturtint Permanent Hair Colorant

After cutting my hair short, I noticed my gray hair were a lot more visible. I think the short haircut made me look a little younger. I can't let the gray hair tell my real age now, right? haha...

While shopping at Henry's Farmers Market, I saw Naturtint Permanent Hair Colorant on sale for about $12 (original price was $16).  I know I can get normal hair dye for about $6 or $7.  But this one is all natural with plant base ingredients, no ammonia, and no resorcinol.  Would you pour chemical on your head?  Probably not.  I think paying a few more dollars for all natural hair dye is totally worth it.

From my many years of dying hair experience (haha), I know my super black hair is hard to get color.  I normally have to go a few shades lighter to get any result.  The color I picked was light copper chestnut.  I assumed I would get a dark chestnut color with it.

Inside the box there were color developer, colorant, fixer, glove, and instruction.

The instruction was super easy.  I had no problem following it.  hahahaha....  I don't even know what language is that.  Of course there's English instruction on the other side.  haha...  So this was what I did.  Mix the colorant and the developer, squeeze the dye on my hair and massage from root and end, leave it on for 30 minutes, rinse, wash, massage fixer into hair and leave for 2 minutes, rinse, and done!

Look!  It looked like I didn't dye my hair at all.  hahahaha.... I guess I can say this hair dye is indeed very natural!

When look closely, I can see hint of chestnut color.  Maybe it'll be more visible under sunlight?  But one thing for sure was it covered all my gray hair!  Woohoo~~~~

Dr. P took some pictures of me with my short hair when we were having dinner.  Short hair is so much easier to manage.

Here 's a side view of my haircut.  I like it!  My hair still looked very black, doesn't it?  haha...

  2. I am a big fan of "Naturtint." I am surprised it's a little bit cheaper in Taiwan (NT 350). My mother bought one today after I told her I'd like to dye my hair. I usually get it from Wholefoods, but I think Henry's sale is way better than Wholefoods.

The price is really good in Taiwan.
    I like Henry's a lot. It's like a smaller and cheaper Wholefoods.

  3. I have used the same product for two years. I like it. I need to reapply it every 2 - 3 months but no terrible odors from the chemicals. You got a good deal. It's time for me to shop at Henry's too! Downside: it didn't cover 100% of my whilte hair.

My mom uses this Indian hair dye to cover her gray hair.
She has to mix it with coffee. The dye has a reddish tone.
She also has to re-apply every 2 or 3 months.
I guess with those all natural dyes, the color fades faster.
But I rather dye my hair every 2 months than pouring chemical on my head.

  4. 髮色真的很自然耶!!! 每次我買其他牌的, 染起來都太黑, 買淡一點的, 白髮就又看起來太亮~~

    下次你可以試試看這種全天然的染髮劑
    顏色是比較不明顯,但是效果很自然

  5. yeah, i think u look better with short hair too.
that last photo with the side view looks as if you had a little wavy perm (i know u didn't)
but i think it has that japanese style look if u had, i think that style of hair is cute but just having perm hurts ur hair
    anyway, my gold wallet's cute

I just used some hair gel to make my hair that way.
Yeah, I don't want to get a perm to damage my hair.
It's already pretty dry and bad. That cute gold wallet is falling apart...
