I bought a daily deal voucher for Hokkaido Seafood Buffet. The deal was $25 for buffet dinner for 2 plus 2 large bottle of Sapporo beer. Original price for buffet dinner is $16.99/person.

They were quite busy on a Saturday night.

We didn't think we could finish 2 large Sapporo and still be able to drive home. So we just got 1 Sapporo and 1 coke.

We went for their sushi first. Their sushi was actually quite good. Big piece of fish and really fresh, but they do give you a lot of rice.

Tasty hot and sour soup. I like this steamed fish a lot.

Dr. P's sushi plate.

Snow crab legs weren't that fresh. The meat tasted really really salty.

A plate of hot cooked food. My favorite was the chow mein.

And a plate of Mongolian BBQ. Shrimp and pork was good, but beef was too tough to chew. I love the baby corn and pineapple.

Ice cream to end the meal.

This was just an ok buffet. For the price I paid, $25 for 2, it was a good deal. But I probably wouldn't pay full price for this mediocre buffet.

  1. I guess this buffet must have improved a lot since you last came here! :D Last time you wrote "But I would never eat their cooked food nor their dessert." However, this visit the food looks much better! (and not just because of the camera or lighting)

Yes, their cooked food have improved.
But Mongolian BBQ wasn't as good as last time.
    Dessert was still horrible. haha...

  2. Can a sushi-loving customer just load up on lots of sushi? (without eating the rice----or do they make you eat it before getting more sushi?)

This place doesn't care about leftover too much.
I've seen other people leaving lots of food on their plate,
and the waiters just took them away.
And no worry, they also have sashimi... raw fish without rice.

  3. Looks like this place is another Zen Buffet...Chinese owner it looks like. Anyway, glad to see that you're eating and cooking at home more often now.

Yup, just like another Zen Buffet.
    All the waitstaff were Chinese.
