We took a weekend trip to Las Vegas 2 weeks ago. But silly me forgot to bring my camera. Thanks to iPhone. I was still able to take some pictures. We arrived Friday night around 8pm. After checking in at our hotel, we went straight to Hard Rock's Johnny Smalls for a late dinner.

This $24.99/person all you can eat tapas restaurant was recommended by my co-worker. Each person can order 2 dishes at one time, and as many times as you want to. Of course you can also order the tapas a la carte.

Bottomless Sangria ($20.00/person)

We opted for the AYCE. Not only that, we also got all you can drink Bottomless Sangria! At first we only wanted to order 2 cocktails. Then I checked in on Four Square, and saw that they had a promotion. With every check-in, you get buy 1 get 1 free Bottomless Sangria. Score! We were ready to party!!

Lamb Lollipops ($12.00)
Grilled lamb chops with chimichurri sauce

There are a few dishes on the menu that requires a $2 extra charge for each order. Lamb Lollipops was one of them. The lamb was grilled to a perfect medium. Chimichurri sauce was delicious. This dish was well worth the $2 upgrade.

Duck Salad Rolls ($10.00)
Duck confit, scallion, cabbage, and mixed greens in a rice wrapper

Our waiter recommended Duck Salad Rolls. It was a great recommendation. Lots of tender duck meat mixing with fresh crisp veggies inside a rice wrapper. The garlic sauce was perfect with the rolls.

Mac & Cheese Daddy ($7.00)
Fried mac & cheese patties, tomato, arugula, garlic aioli

Another dish recommended by our waiter. The fried patty was made with mac & cheese. He said that it might sound strange, but taste really good.

I love it! The mac & cheese patty had a crispy panko crust, and the inside was still soft and chewy. It was really unique. Dr. P wasn't a fan though.

Steamed Mussels ($10.00)
Steamed black mussels in a rich garlic broth

The mussels were a bit overcooked. This dish was not bad, but nothing special about it.

Shorty ($10.00)
Braised short ribs, sage, savory virgin oil

Braised short ribs was very tender, but I wish it came with some vegetables.

Gaspacho Martini ($8.00)
Chilled tomato and roasted pepper soup served in a martini shaker

I love the presentation of Gaspacho Martini. The waiter actually shook the martini shaker tableside, then poured it into the martini glass.

Lettuce Cups ($11.00)
Spicy charred shrimp, slaw, mango

Lettuce Cups was ok. Not too special.

Tuna Sashimi ($9.00)
Clean and simple, sesame ginger ponzu

Tuna Sashimi was so good that we immediately placed another order. The tuna was icy cold and very fresh. Love the sesame ginger ponzu.

Asada Tacos ($11.00)
Grilled flat steak, salsa, mini tortillas, guacamole

Hey where was our salsa? We only got steak, guacamole, and tortillas with our order of Asada Tacos. The steak and guacamole were great.

Bacon Wrapped Dates ($6.00)
Applewood bacon, marcona almonds, bleu cheese

Bacon Wrapped Dates was the only dish I didn't like. Actually we both hate it. The bacon was overcooked. It was very hard, and very salty. The date tasted oily. Yuck!

Satay Trio ($11.00)
Beef, chicken and whole shrimp skewers

All 3 satay skewers were good. But we were about to pop at this point.

We absolutely love Johnny Small. Service was exceptional. Both the hostess and our waiter were very friendly and helpful. We also love how they never rush you. People can sit there all night hanging out and keep on ordering endless food and sangria. I will most definitely visit Johnny Small again when we return to Las Vegas.
