[Alhambra] [Asian Fusion] Cafe Spot

Cafe Spot
咖啡點
500 W Valley Blvd
Alhambra, CA 91803
(626) 308-3233

I pass by Cafe Spot every time when I go visit my sister. This restaurant is always full. I've never tried it, but very curious why they are always packed. Finally we went to try this place out.

Most of the HK cafes are filled with Asian gangsters young & hip Asians. But this cafe was filled with family and children. I find it more relaxing that way so I don't have to worry about accidentally meeting eyes with people next table and getting questions like "what the f are you looking at" then it turns into a gun fight outside in the parking lot.

玉米濃湯 Corn Chowder

Love the Asian style corn chowder. Love it even more because it was free!

街頭雞蛋仔 HK Pan Cakes ($4.55)

Almost every table ordered HK Pan Cakes. The whole restaurant smelt like those tiny round cakes. The mini cake was soft and airy inside. This would make a great afternoon tea dish to be enjoyed with a cup of hot milk tea.

椒鹽雞翼 Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings ($6.50)

Standard HK style salt and pepper chicken wings. Oily but very tasty.

海南雞飯 Hainan Chicken Rice ($7.50)

Hainan chicken rice was really really good. Love their red chili and ginger green onion sauce. The salted duck egg was good touch. I brought the leftover home, and Dr. P loved it as well.

焗肉醬意粉 Baked Spaghetti with Meat Sauce ($7.95)

Baked Spaghetti with Meat Sauce is one of my favorite item to order at HK cafes. Cafe Spot's version was pretty tasty. Asian spaghetti meat sauce tasted slightly sweeter than Italian version. The baked melted cheese on top was super yummy.

紫米粥 Purple Rice Dessert

Everyone also gets free dessert! We all got a treat of purple rice with tapioca dessert soup with some cream on top.

Price was so very reasonable. We need a place like this in OC, seriously!!

  1. i laughed out loud at the gunfight statement! I totally agree. once I get a look like "look at me again and i'm going to kill you" from a 10 year old! scary.

haha Thanks for laughing at my joke.
Why do young people in SGV all look so.... scary? lol

  3. Wow, those remarks about the Asian gangs took me back one decade (high school days)...Garden Cafe, Nice Cafe, etc. those places you didn't want to be at after 11 pm or else someone will be shot (watch Gangland for that). However, most of these guys are locked up or just don't dress the gang attire anymore (baggy pants and high asian fade cuts are not stylish anymore).

    hahahaha Man you're young.
One decade ago you were in high school.
For me that was two decades ago. hahaha....
Remember all the shooting cases outside of those cafes?
    Scary eh?
