[San Gabriel] [Vietnamese] Com Tam Thuan Kieu

Com Tam Thuan Kieu
順橋碎米飯

Ever since I tried the 10 items rice at Com Tam Thuan Kieu, I've been wanting to come back.  I took my parents here for dinner one night and they couldn't believe how much food you get for $10!

順橋碎米飯 (10味) Thuan Kieu Broken Rice with 10 Kind of Foods ($9.99)

The 3 of us shared 2 plates of Thuan Kieu Broken Rice with 10 Kind of Foods.  The 10 items were  charbroiled beef/pork/pork chop, pork sausage, shrimp roll, Chinese sausage, shrimp egg roll, pork egg roll, shredded pork skin, steamed egg, BBQ shrimp, and another different kind of shrimp roll.  We got one pork and one beef.  I thought pork was better than beef.  Turned out the 2 plates were way too much food for us.  We had 3 boxes of leftover food, which we finished in 2 days!  My parents loved the food, and the price!

Soup

Soup was free, one bowl for each person.  Very simple pork rib soup.

牛筋湯 Beef Tendon Soup ($1.99)

I forgot to tell dad about the free soup, so he ordered a beef tendon soup.  He ended up taking it http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com and added some noodle to make his own beef tendon pho the next day.  He said it was good.

崩大碗 Pennyworth Drink ($1.75)

Mom tried the "Vietnamese green drink" (as I called it), or Pennyworth Drink for the first time.  She said it tasted like grass, but in a good way.

Vietnamese broken rice is yummy and cheap!  We'll be back soon.
