Thanks to my readers, I have this super long to-try list of restaurants from everyone's recommendation. A reader told me about the $9.99 all you can eat Korean BBQ restaurant in Rowland Heights. What? $9.99? I took my parents there for a weekday lunch.
There were actually 2 prices for lunch. For $9.99 you get 6 choices of meat. For $12.99, you get 12 choices, plus soup, plus steam egg, plus rice. Since dad was feeling like having some beef tongue, we opted for the $12.99 set B.
Banchan
5 banchan: seaweed, bean sprout, shredded radish, broccoli and kimchi. We liked their kimchi a lot.
Salad
Big bowl of salad to go with the meat.
Beef Tongue / Chicken / Boneless Ribs
They let us pick 3 different meat at a time. For our first plate, we got beef tongue, chicken, and boneless ribs.
Beef tongue was good. Rib was even better, only I wished it was marinated. Chicken was marinated and it was pretty good.
Steam Egg
Korean style steam egg is so good. I wish I know how to make this at http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com.
Sliced Beef with Marinate / Spicy Sliced Pork
For the 2nd round of order, we got sliced beef with marinate, spicy sliced pork, and....
Original Beef Brisket
"Original" beef brisket. These are the brisket from the more expensive menu. But why I don't know. More fat?
Spicy Sliced Pork / Original Beef Brisket
The marinated sliced beef (bulgogi) was good, but I thought the ginger flavor was too strong. Parents liked it. Spicy sliced pork was way too sweet. We didn't like this one at all. Beef brisket was fatty and yummy.
Soybean Soup
Parents thought the soybean soup was too salty. But that's just how it supposed to be. Lots of anchovy flavor. I liked it.
I like The House of Korea. Food was decent, especially the price is so cheap. The Korean waitress was really nice and friendly. She chatted with my parents quite a bit. There was also one waitress who can speak Mandarin Chinese. We only had 2 plates this time. I gotta come back with some hungry people next time!

Wow, so cheap! That's a good price for decent AYCE Korean BBQ.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely a good deal. But that price is for lunch only.
do they even have this lunch price on the weekend? do you also know the price at weekend night?
ReplyDeletegosh, I am hungry for some korean BBQ again now :)-
thanks Eileen for another good deal!!

I'm not sure they have the lunch special on weekend.
You probably have to call them to ask.
I just went there for dinner one week ago!! It's really great deal and so delicious!!
ReplyDeleteIf you live in that side of town, it's much closer than K-Town, too!
