It was Mother's Day.  Dad went fishing.  Sister was busy working and on a diet.  Brother had to work.  Mom didn't really care too much going out to eat since we all got her nice presents already.  Since we had a $25 gift card from Romano's Macaroni Grill, mom said let's just go there for lunch. The restaurant was pretty busy for Mother's Day.  But we got a seat really fast since there were only the two of us.  Bigger parties all had to wait for seats.

Bread

The freshly baked rosemary ciabatta bread was so good.  Mom and I finished the entire bread and our waitress brought us another hot one that just came out of the oven.

Crab-Stuffed Mushrooms ($8.79)
Mushrooms stuffed with succulent crab and Italian seasonings, then baked to a golden brown in our brick oven

Before going to the restaurant, I went to their website to look at the menu.  Then I signed up for their email list.  And surprise surprise!  I got an email coupon for one free appetizer right after I signed up!  We picked the Crab-Stuffed Mushrooms.

The mushroom was huge.  So juicy!  The stuffing was very "crabby", meaning it tasted like crab... a lot.  It was good, but a bit heavy.

Garden Salad ($1.99)

We got a side of Garden Salad to share.  Mom liked that they added olive in the salad.

Chicken Scaloppine ($13.99)
Sauteed chicken with mushrooms, artichokes, capers and smoked prosciutto in a lemon butter sauce. Served over capellini pasta

Chicken Scaloppine was my favorite dish at Romano's Macaroni Grill.  I ordered 2 pastas to share with mom.  The chicken that day was a bit too salty.  But the sauce and pasta was really good.  Mom took a bite, commented on how the chicken was too salty, but the pasta was so good so she didn't really care about the salty chicken.  She pretty much took over the whole plate and finished every bit of it.

Seafood Linguine ($15.49)
Shrimp, scallops and clams sauteed with oven-roasted tomatoes, basil, arugula and linguine in a white wine, garlic and olive oil sauce

Seafood Linguine had a much lighter taste than the Chicken Scaloppine.  Lots of fresh seafood.  It was good, but the Chicken Scaloppine was still better.  I thought the portion was really big.  I only ate half of it.  How did my mom finished that Chicken Scaloppine all by herself?  It is just so not fair.  My mom can eat.  My mom can eat A LOT.  In fact, she can eat twice more than I can.  Yet we have the same height, and she weighs 95 pounds, and I weigh 125 pounds.  Why why why?

Italian Sorbetto ($4.79)
Imported Italian raspberry and lemon sorbets made with fresh fruit juice. Served with an almond biscotti

I was really full, but mom still wanted dessert.  See, how she can eat?  We got the Italian Sorbetto.  I thought the raspberry and lemon sorbets were pretty good, but mom thought it was too sweet.

After applying the free appetizer coupon and the $25 gift card, lunch was only $15!

Mom was happy, so I was happy, too!  Happy Mother's Day, Mom!

  1. The crab stuffed mushroom looks very good. Usually we just get calamari as an appetizer here.
I like that now they put the salt onto the bread now. It makes the bread very flavorful and delicious!
I have always wondered how the Chicken Scallopine looked like. Thanks for taking a photo of it :).

My mom and I actually didn't like the salt.
We thought the bread already has enough flavor, and the salt made it too salty.
