Animals from School

I really like the Veterinary Technology program from Mt San Antonio College.  We have so many different animals in school.  Students also bring all kinds of pets to school.  It's just so fun to go to school every day.  And we get hand-on experience working with all different types of animals.  It's a really great program for anybody who loves animal or wants to be a vet or vet tech.  I want to show you guys some random pictures I took in school this semester.

Some calves were born earlier this year.  Now they are few months old.  Very cute.

This little one was curious and stuck his head outside the fence when I was taking a picture.

Here's giant bull.  One of our bull jumped the fence a few weeks ago.  They found him at Cal Poly's farm where the girls were.  Boys will always be boys.

Lots of little lamb were born earlier this year also.

Working with the goats.  The goats are our professor's pet goat.

We have 2 zebus (and 1 watusi!).  Don't worry, we are not torturing him.  We were just giving him a pedicure (trimming his hooves).

This is Canine Management class.  These students bring their dogs to class for a dog obidence class.  In my school, people bring their pets to class all the time.  Dog, cat, rabbit, hamster, ferret, chinchilla, and even birds.  What other school can you do that?  I love that about Mt SAC!

I don't know why people are afraid of rats.  Personally I think they are really cute.  I don't like mice though.  I got bit by a vicious little mouse last semester while trying to handle him.  Rats are much easier to handle.  They are actually really smart and make good pets.  This girl from my class has 3 pet rats.  Another lady took 2 rats http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com from school to keep as pets.

This is an Angora Goat.  His name is Liberty.  He gotta be the friendliest goat I've ever known (not that I know too many goats in my life).  If you call his name, he'll lift up his head, wiggle his little tails, and run to you, kinda like a dog.

Awww.... just look at that.  Liberty is like "oh yes rub me rub me rub me" to Chiyaki.

Then I called out "Liberty!  Look over here and let me take a picture of you!".  And he did!!

Look at that giant rabbit!  This girl brought her pet rabbit to class.  I think that's the biggest rabbit I've ever seen.

Seriously!  Have you ever seen a rabbit that fat?

Ferret is illegal in California, but still a lot of people have ferret as pet.  A girl brought her ferret to class and our professor was teaching us how to handle it.

We used to have two llamas, but 1 died.  They put this llama with the sheep now so he doesn't get too lonely.  He's not afraid of people at all.  I didn't zoom in on my camera to take this pictures.  He was right there a few feet away from me.

This mama horse just gave birth.  The baby horse was only a few days old in this picture.  He was still learning how to walk.

The baby horse was sleeping.  I thought horse sleeps standing up?  But baby horse lay down to sleep?

We are trying to breed the horses in school.  We have to check to see if the mares are in heat or not by "teasing" them with a stallion.

This was what happened when the girl was not interested in the boy at all. She's like "leave me alone!"

Just look at this handsome stallion that looks like a.... cow.... with lots of hair.  How can you say no to this boy?

This piglet was only 1 day old! So adorable!

Aren't those piglets cute? See how they wiggle their little tails? So cute!

I went to visit the piglet a few days later.  They were standing in a roll.  Perfect picture time!

Then they got tired of standing.  Time to take a nap!

Mama pig is very friendly.  She likes to have her belly rubbed.

A girl brought a pitbull puppy because she could no longer take care of him.

Baby pitbull says "Can somebody take me http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com, please?"....

(okok... I look terrible in this picture.  I don't wear makeup to school.  I have been working under the sun and sweating for 6 hours.  My hair was messy from running around outside.  My scrubs were way too big.  I had a huge pimple above my lips.  But DON'T look at me.  LOOKS AT THE PUPPY please?)

There...  that's a lot of animal pictures.  It just makes me so happy looking at these cute animals!  Hope you guys enjoy it, too!!

  3. I did see several gigantic rabbits like the one you posted while I volunteer in a rabbit shelter back in college. They were just huge..are they like irregular breed or what??

    I don't think it's an "irregular" breed.
It's just a breed of rabbit that is larger in size. But our professor did said the rabbit was a bit overweight.
