Mom has been talking about going back to Shrimp House ever since last we visited the restaurant.  I actually bought a few more gift certificates from Restaurant.com.  The GC is good for 1 year.  It's a good idea to stock up when they have their big 80% sale.

This time we went for lunch.  The restaurant was not too busy during lunch hour.  But a lot people come in to get take-out.  The restaurant offers lunch special menu with dishes range around $8.  The lunch special also come with soup or salad and one side.  Pretty good deal.

Boston Clam Chowder

Mom and Dad both started the meal with Boston Clam Chowder, a.k.a. the "white" chowder.

Salad

I got a plate of fresh garden salad with ranch dressing.

Merchant's Combo w/ Mixed Veggies ($7.25)
Two large shrimp, one Alaskan fillet breaded daily and golden fried

Normally, my mom doesn't eat any fried food.  But ever since she tried some of my fried shrimp last time, she has been craving for it.  The seafood was fried with a cornmeal crust.  It wasn't oily and just tasted so good.  Mom got the Merchant's Combo, which came with two large shrimps and one Alaskan fish fillet.  For side, she picked mixed veggies.  Mom absolutely loves the fish.

Merchant's Combo w/ Cole Slaw ($7.25)
Two large shrimp, one Alaskan fillet breaded daily and golden fried

Dad also got the Merchant's Combo, but picked Cole slaw for his side.  Since dad went fishing and caught some really fresh fish, he said that his fish tasted better than this fish.  But he also said for the price, it was a pretty good deal.

Seafood Combination w/ French Fries ($7.95)
One Jumbo Shrimp, one fish fillet and two scallops, breaded daily and golden fried

I ordered the seafood combination.  Jumbo shrimp, fish fillet, and scallop.  And when you go fried, you gotta go fried all the way.  So I even got french fries for my side.  haha....  I think the shrimp was the best one.  It's just so tasty.  Scallop was pretty good, too.  My fish wasn't bad, but somehow I thought my mom's piece tasted better.  Maybe hers was from Alaska and mine wasn't (cause it didn't say so on the menu)?

We used the $10 gift certificate that I bought for $0.60.  Seafood lunch for 3 with leftover was only $15!  What a great deal!!  If you live around the area and would like to try Shrimp House, don't forget to get your gift certificate from Restaurant.com.

  1. Actually the g/c never expires in Calif. We tried a couple of months ago. Not bad, but still not a fan of that much fried food.

Really? Good to know. I'm going to stock up next time they have a 80% off sale.

  3. So much fried food! Which piece of seafood is the shrimp? They look the same to me.

I've driven by this place many times but never have dined here. It is nice to see the photos of the food!

The skinner and shorter piece with the tail sticking out.

but their 25 dollar G.C has been out of stock so soon.
so only 10 dollar one is on sale for 0.6 dollars.

    That's still a good deal.
You have to be really quick when they have the 80% off sale.
