After our afternoon snack at Fulfilled, we decided to browse the fancy stores on Rodeo Drive a little. All the cars parked on the streets were either BMW or Mercedes Benz. Then this car caught my eyes!
At first I thought this must be a prop car from a movie or something. It was probably just parked there for show.
But it has a license plate. Also when I looked in from the window, there were lots of "personal belongings" in the car.
This is actually somebody's car!
We had no idea what kind of car it is. But it said "Vector W8 Twin Turbo" on the side of the car. So I googled it....
And found a video about the car.
Also found the official Vector Motors Corporation website.
The car was produced between 1989 to 1993. Original price $455,000. If you have $1,000,000 right now, you can own one, too!

Looks like it is a display car. It doesn't even have the license plate bracket on it- and it doesn't look like the police gave the car a ticket so probably it is.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if you read what I wrote at all.
I just wrote "it has a license plate". It's at the back of the car on the side.
shiny for 1989-1993 production
ReplyDeleteYeah, looks really new.
I can even see the plate on the corner of the picture!!!
ReplyDeleteYup, it's right there.
wow its the coolest car if seen in all my life
ReplyDeleteYup, it was really cool!
Wow!
ReplyDeleteI spent my entire youth wanting one of these! It was the second-to-top card in my 'Fast Cars' Top Trumps game! It came behind the Ferrari Testerosa, because it was something ridiculous like .001 of a second slower from 0-60mph... Ahhh!
If I had a million bucks, I know what I'd be doing right now!
Not buying one of these, sadly - but if I had 10 million, I might buy one, if only to see how many people stand around it taking photos!
But hell, imagine if it got scratched!!
Lovely pics anyway!
Take it easy bro!
Tony
We were really lucky to see this car on the road.
That is an incredible car. I am fortunate enough to say that I know “Jerry” who is the creator of the Vector…What a Brilliant Man. If you think these are beautiful you should see the 2 prototype Vector’s that Jerry has, They are Gorgeous!!!! One is a convertible.
ReplyDeleteJerry is looking at bringing back the Vector and is looking for investors. I have seen the prototype and has a lot of potential. I would like to see his product come back out in to the world.
He could very well build the next Supercar that would beat the SSC Ultimate Aero (what an incredible Supercar, American Made, Fastest production car out there faster than the Bugatti. Priced at $650,000) and the Bugatti, Great Supercar Priced at $1.3 Million (personally I think over priced). They both are Great Supercars and I have been fortunate enough to have seen and driven both.
The new Vector will have over 1200 HP and will be priced under $600,000
I personally own a Ferrari and a Lambo in fact that is how I met Jerry at a car show and then we became friends.
Yes those are real cars and not a prop. Never give up on your Dreams if you work hard enough and stay focused you will achieve them!

Thank you for telling more about this car.
We were so lucky to see this car on the street just like that.
I am really glad there is still interest in the vector. It was my childhood dream to own one or more(I dream biggg). I own a business currently and some part of me only considers my company as a stepping stone to my real dream, restarting Vector with Jerry, or without if there was no interest. I would like to find out more on how the investor process is going for him and if he plans to build any of the works of art such as the w8 and wx-3 also in the future.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I just learned that Colonel Sanders didn't become a big success till 65yrs old, so go ahead Jerry, Get Ur Done!
I hope the dream will become a reality soon. Best wishes! ^^
I love this car since i was a kid learned about it in,
ReplyDeleteGran Turismo 2 for playstation... Only Proplem is I can never expect To Own One In My Lifetime.
But....
A 92 Nissan 300zx With Alot of Body Modification Can come close to the Vectors style... For a regular joe like me...
If You Can Dream it Do It!!!
You never know! I love what you said, "if you can dream it, do it!"
A silver W8 pulled up alongside me at a red light in Austin, Texas yesterday! I couldn't believe it... I knew what it was and I knew that fewer than two dozen were ever made, so I was shocked that one was being driven next to me. It was gorgeous, very cool!!
ReplyDeleteCould it be the same car that I saw in Beverly Hills?
