After our spicy lunch at Hunan Seafood, we walked accross the street to buy some Vietnamese sandwiches and iced coffee from Lee's Sandwiches.

The Rosemead store was really spacious.  The restaurant looked bright and clean.

There was a long line of people waiting to order.  After ordering, we went to the pick up window to wait.  We should've gone to the drive-thru.  Probably would take less time.

While waiting, we noticed some weird looking Vietnamese desserts.  Had no idea what they were.  Can somebody tell me what these things are, please?

Lee's Combination Sandwich ($2.20)

We got two different sandwiches to share.  Lee's Combination has sliced jambon, headcheese and pate.  This one was alright, not my favorite but Dr. Park likes it.

Meatball Sandwich ($2.20)

My favorite is Meatball Sandwich.  The meat ball was so soft and yummy.  There were water chestnut in the meatball to add a little crunch.  I like the sweet & sour Vietnamese pickles, too.

These cheap and yummy sandwiches were my dinner at work that night.

  2. I just don't get how they can take so much time to prepare a sandwich, every time I am there, there is at least ten mins wait till I get my order. Even there is a long line in Subway, they still manage to keep the process quick. I think they got some internal control issues.

That day we waited for a long time, too.
Then we saw two sandwiches just sitting on the top of the inside counter.
We had to call some worker over and asked if those were our sandwiches.
Sure they were. They were just sitting there for like 10 minutes!
They really need to train their employees better.

  4. Eileen,
I like your Chinese writing better. There are so many English food blogs and they are all similar. You have a very unique voice writing in Mandarin. Frankly I miss it!

    Thanks for letting me know.

Lee's
