Arcadia新開了一家日本風的超商Famima!!，滿心歡喜的去買了壽司和飲料帶去公司當晚餐吃，卻是一整個失望啊！

Couples weeks ago, I drove by the corner of Santa Anita and Live Oaks in Arcadia, and saw Walgreens was closed and a new Famima was due to open.  I've been to Famima in Pasadena and Culver City.  It reminded me of the 7-11 back in Taiwan.  So I was pretty excited about them opening a store near my house.  I decided to check the store out on Sunday and to redeem the coupon they sent to my mailbox.


Extra Spicy Tuna Roll ($5.95)

I went before going to work so I could also buy dinner there.  I browsed through their food section and saw sandwiches, salad, pasta, rice and sushi.  Most items are about $6.  I decided to get the Extra Spicy Tuna Roll.





I had Famima's Spicy Tuna Rolls from other location and had enjoyed it.  But this box of rolls was a big disappointment.  The sushi rice was mushy, almost like the yucky Costco kind of sushi rice.  And the rolls kept on falling apart when I picked them up with chopsticks.  The spicy sauce was indeed extra spicy, which I like.  But that's about it.  I probably will never buy sushi from Famima again.


Teas' Tea Lemongrass Green ($2.00)

I saw a flayer on the wall saying that if you buy sushi, then Teas' Tea is $0.50 off.  So I grabbed a bottle.  But guess what?  The clerk didn't take off $0.50 and I didn't notice it until later.  I like Teas' Tea.  It's pure green tea with no sugar added.  But I wish I got my $0.50 off.




Blueberry Slushy

I had a coupon for one free slushy.  I gave the coupon to the not so friendly clerk and she just said "but you didn't get it yet".  I had a puzzeled look on my face so she pointed to the slushy machine at the corner of the store.  I answered "oh I need to go get it first?"  She just walked out from behind the counter to the machine while I followed her.  She took out a cup and the lid, left by the machine, and left without saying a word. 



They had 3 flavors to choose from: Coke, blueberry and cherry.  Coka was out, so I picked blueberry.  It had a really artifical and almost scary blue color.  It tasted like pure sugar and I think that's what it was.

I liked Famima, and I want to continue liking them.  But I don't know.  I spent $8 for some bad sushi and bad service.  I don't think I'll come back to Arcadia Famima again.
