Parents, brother and I went to Ji Rong Restaurant for their lunch special. On Monday through Friday, lunch special is buy 3 get 1 free. All dishes range from $3.95~ $5.95. Pretty good deal. No wonder the restaurant was full when we got there.
While we were sitting there waiting for a seat, I kept on looking at the giant fish in the tank. That is one big fish. What kind of fish is that? After waiting for about 20 minutes, we got a table.
酸辣湯 Spicy and Sour Soup
Everyone also get a bowl of free soup for lunch. The choices were spicy and sour soup or egg drop soup. We all got the spicy and sour. It was really spicy, the white pepper kind of spicy. They seriously added way too much pepper.
特製抓餅 House Special Pancakes ($2.98)
My dad liked the pancake. It was crusty and chewy. Especially good with lamb for some reason.
地三鮮 Fried Potato, Green Pepper and Eggplant ($4.98)
This was a vegetable dish. Potato, green pepper, eggplant, and tomato. First fried, then sauteed in a brown sauce. It was good. I like the eggplant a lot.
小炒羊肉 Sauteed Lamb ($5.98)
Lamb was sauteed with cilantro. It was really simple, but so delicious. I liked this dish a lot.
芥蘭魚片 Fish Fillet with Broccoli ($5.98)
The standard fish fillet with broccoli. Fish was really tender.
什錦海鮮炒麵 Mixed Seafood Fried Noodle ($5.98)
Seafood chow mein came with 4 shrimps and 4 fish fillet. The noodle was tasty. I had the leftover for lunch the next day. It was still good.
水煮兩樣 Szechwan Special Beef Fish Fillet ($9.98)
The Szechwan special wasn't on the lunch special menu, but it was my dad's favorite dish so we had to order it. We got the beef and fish one. It was spicy and garlicky. I just need this dish to finish a whole bowl of rice.
Even it was "buy 3 get 1 free", they simply took off $3.98 on the bill. $3.98 is the cheapest price on the lunch menu. Oh well, it was still cheap. We had a lot of leftover to take http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com, too.
Ji Rong's food is not the best. But it's good enough for the price. We'd be back again for their lunch special.

看起來紅龍(Sceleropages formosus)銀龍(Osteoglossum bicirrhosum)都是龍魚(Arowana),尾鰭顏色有些不同, 但紅龍是國際保育動,被養殖的話...怪怪的...不知是不是這樣??
這種魚在美國不知道是要去哪裡買
在水族館中也沒有看過這種魚
不知道這家餐廳是從哪裡弄到這條魚的

The food isn't the best in town.
But cheap and serve the purpose of getting you really full. haha....
that's silver arowana 銀龍, originated from Amazon River Basin/South America. You can get 3" babies at Asian Owned Aquarium for ~$15. Easy to keep but needs a big tank and feed

endangered and needs a permit to own.

We recently tried Asia Buffet at corner of Gale & Fullerton
in Rowland Heights, $12.99 weekend/dinner. Food tasts better then most Asian buffets and including decent snow crab legs. May be you can give it a try when you are in the area. You will really enjoy it for the price!
