NCL Mexican Riviera Cruise Day 7: Versailles Main Restaurant Breakfast

Day 7, last day on the cruise. We actually wake up early because we wanted to enjoy the last day of breakfast. But I guess everyone had the same idea. Versailles Main Restaurant was SUPER crowded that day. Service was extremely slow.

Pastry

We had to wait for 15 minutes before somebody came to take our order.  Then we had to ask few times for somebody to bring the pastry to our table.  It was the same standard pastry for all 7 days.

Fruit Plate

Our waitress told us that our dishes "will take a very long time because we are very busy today".  Ok.... So we ordered the fruit plate while waiting for the cooked dishes.  The fruit didn't taste that fresh.

Traditional Egg Benedict, Country Potatoes & French Toast

Dr. P ordered his favorite egg benedict with potatoes and french toast.  He said it was pretty good just like before.

Omelet, Country Potatoes & Sausage

But my omelet was horrible.  Just look how burned it was.  The burn made the egg tasted bitter.  I didn't want to send it back and wait for another 30 minutes so just ate it like that.  Gross.

Didn't like breakfast at all.  Should've just sleep in.

  1. Eileen....

I want to thank you for taking so much time, and giving so much detail.

We're thinking of doing a cruise soon, but many of your reviews MATCH reviews elsewhere that NCL's food is overall, not that great. And yeah, to me the food is important, not buying magnets that say "Caymans" on them. Relaxing and eating nicely prepared food is important to me on vacation.

*sigh* If NCL could JUUUUUUUST step up the food! I'd cruise once a year with them.

You're very welcome, Mark. I am glad my reviews can be a little help to your cruise decision.
I really like the "free style" on NCL. I like to eat whenever I want to and don't have to sit with a big group of strangers.
Just like you said, only if they would improve the quality of food.
We are thinking about doing an Alaska cruise next. If the food was better, NCL would be one of our top choices.
But now... NCL is an alternative.
