NCL Mexican Riviera Cruise Day 7: Aqua Main Restaurant Dinner

Last dinner on the ship. We were expecting something really good. But instead, we had the worst meal on the cruise.

Graviax Salmon Tartar

We got the salmon tartar, didn't know it was smoked salmon tartar.  We suspected these were the leftover salmon from past 7 day's breakfast leftover.  Didn't taste fresh at all.

Escargot Bourguignonne

Escargot was alright.  The garlic butter was good to dip the bread with.

Aromatic Duck Consomme

The duck soup didn't have any duck in it.  But it had a very strong duck aroma.  There were also wonton, scallions, and shiitake mushroom in the soup.

English Cut Strip Loin

Strip loin looked good, but it was not as tender as it looked.  Dr. P didn't like it, me either.

Cooking Light Braised Pork Roast

Pork roast was even worst.  The meat was so dry and tough.  I only had two bites.

Mocha Cheesecake

Mocha cheesecake wasn't bad, but the caramelized banana sauce tasted like paint, or glue.

Lime Sherbet

Lime sherbet looked artificial, tasted even more artificial.

Yeah, our cruise ended with a really bad meal.  By then, I just want to go http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com to have some Chinese food with a big bowl of rice.  I had a lot of fun in Mexico though.  Will I go on the cruise again?  Definitely.  Hope you guys enjoy looking at so much cruise food... ^^

  3. Wow, very detailed postings with photos and even video, I thought I have already come back from the cruise after viewing your site. My family (2 families with kids) and I are going on the Norwegian Star during Christmas holiday 2010, I was researching info. about the ship and fun things to do just want to get the most out of the 7-day cruise since I heard a lot of budget cut backs going on for NCL. One of the postings in Cruisecritic saying the Blue Lagoon now started to charge a fee to eat there ever since it was relocated to deck 8...anyway, your reviews and photos of the dishes really give me an idea of what to look for. Thanks!

I'm so glad my reviews can help! You and your family will definitely have tons of fun on this cruise trip.
The best part about Blue Lagoon was the 24 hour free meal. I hope they didn't start charging fees because then it wouldn't be so great anymore.
My favorite part of the trip was actually the activities in Mexico. ATV, horseback riding, and jeep tour were all super fun.
I wish you and family will have a blast this Christmas!
