Christmas Dinner

Dr. P invited to his family's house on Christmas eve. I wanted to do something nice for his family so I cooked. Since it was a last minute thing, I wanted to fine recipes that's easy and fast. I ended up using Rachel Ray's recipes.

Bacon and Cheese Brussels Sprouts

This appetizer is super delicious.  The brussels sprouts were cooked with maple syrup so it was sweet.  Bacon was salty.  Cheese was creamy.  Mix all the flavors together, it was like heaven in my mouth.  This appetizer also goes very well with red wine.  I drank an extra glass just because of this appetizer.  Definitely will make it again and again.  RECIPE HERE.

Bacon Wrapped Sausage

I didn't actually make the bacon wrapped sausage.  We bought it from Fresh & Easy.  It was greasy and the bacon wouldn't stay put on the sausages.  The sausage took longer to cook, so the bacon were burned.  It was pretty bad.  Do not get this item from Fresh & Easy.

Rocky's Christmas Eve Calamari with Nutty Angel Hair

Main dish was calamari angel hair.  I like this recipe because the calamari was baked, rather than fried.  I also went easy on the salt.  It was healthier this way.  Mrs. P liked this dish a lot.  RECIPE HERE.

Thanksgiving Green Beans

Even though this dish is called "Thanksgiving" green beans, I thought the colors were very "christmasy".  This dish was very flavorful.  I like the mixture of mustard and Worcestershire sauce.  RECIPE HERE.

Baked Sweet Potato with Maple Sour Cream

Ever since I read about this recipe on I Dine Alone's blog, I've been wanting to make it.  The maple sour cream was soooooo good.  RECIPE HERE.

Key Lime Pie

Since I don't know how to bake at all, we bought dessert.  Key Lime Pie from Fresh & Easy.  It was really sour, but still kinda good in a way.

Christmas Log Cake

But Mrs. P also bought cake.  This Christmas log cake was beautiful.  Almost too pretty to cut into it.  The cake was from La Mousse Desserts.

Next morning, Dr. P woke up early and made me breakfast to thank me for making dinner the night before.  It was so sweet of him.

Ham & Cheese Omelet

Dr. P's ham & cheese omelet.  Dr. P was mad that the omelet got stuck onto the pan a little so the egg had those pan mark on it.  He thought it looked bad.  But I didn't care.  I thought the omelet was delicious!

There, my Christmas feast.  I know it's a little bit late, but did everyone have a great Christmas?  What did you guys eat?
