HTC Droid Incredible

Yes! I finally have a smart phone.  So I heard iPhone might be available for Verizon customers in June.  I was going to be patient and wait till June.  But then I saw the review for HTC Droid Incredible on CNET, and decided to get the phone right away.

Retail price for the phone is $529.99.  With a contact for another 2 years, and my "new every 2 years" discount of $50, plus a 15% off coupon code, the final price was $134.99 for the phone.  It also came with a free 2GB memory card and card reader.

First thing I noticed, this phone was made in my http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com country, Taiwan!

Inside the box, I found manuals, phone, battery, charger, and USB cord.

The red on the battery and inside the phone is really cute.  I actually wish the phone is in this color.

The back of the phone.

I have been playing with the new phone for a few days.  Love it!  Just love it!  Why did I wait for this long to get a smart phone?

Now I have my HTC incredible, need some recommendation for fun & useful application, please~~~~

  1. once you go smart phone, you'd never go back! :)

yeah HTC is a Taiwan brand... if i didn't love my iphone so much, i would get this too!!

    I like iPhone a lot, too. But I just don't like AT&T. >_<

  2. AT&T has iPhone exclusively until 2012, so Verizon won't be getting it anytime soon. I don't have a smartphone either but I'm waiting to see some of the Windows Phone 7 products.

There are so many rumors going around.
Also I heard Verizon is not going to release the Google Nexus One phone like they had announced before.

  3. Congrads on your new purchase! I have Motorola Droid and absolutely LOVE it. :-) Here are some applications that I use regularly:
DroidLight -- a simple flash light.
Movies -- can view movie trailers and look up movie show time on the go.
Advanced Task Killer -- to kill idle applications
Pandora -- same function as pandora.com

My most impressed function of droid is when you google a place, you can click on phone or address on the search result page and it takes you directly to the phone application or the gps navigation application!

    Thank you so much, Tina!
I am downloading all those apps now. ^^
I know! The nevigation application is pretty amazing!

  4. How much did you pay for the data plan?
I really want to have an iphone, but dont like the data plan that AT&T provide!
Still waiting.....I heard someone said apple will release 4G in July.

It's $29.99 for unlimited data plan.
I wanted to wait for 4G phone at first, but I just couldn't wait any longer.

  5. Should have waited for the HTC EVO 4G that will be released next month. So much better than the Incredible.

Next month? Man... I just couldn't wait any longer.
But if I knew there will be a 4G phone released next month, I probably would've waited.

  7. HTC has great phones. Even though I use an iPhone (first generation) HTC phones are great too (family member uses one, it's very nice even though it is old (Touch Dual). I find it funny how both HTC and Motorola use "Droid" as names for their products. Probably due to Verizon?

As for the Apple question, people know approximately how the new iPhone will look like since someone from Apple accidentally left the prototype in a bar. Gizmodo has details if you want to know! The Verizon thing is unclear, although AT&T does have exclusivity on it still...

I love everything about my HTC phone, except the battery life.
I have to charge the phone like twice a day. Why is that?

  8. It's probably because bluetooth, wi-fi (does this phone have it?), and GPS signals are all turned on. If you don't need to use something, like GPS, often, turn that function off to save battery power. GPS usually uses a lot of battery power- even GPS systems usually last about 5 or so hours unplugged and being used constantly.

Oh yeah. I have bluetooth, wi-fi, and GPS all turned on at the same time.
I'm turning everything off and see how long the battery will last now. Thank you!

  10. MyTracks & Pandora!

Track your position with GPS. So if you run, bike, hike you can track what you are doing, speed, distance, pace, elevation, etc... and when you are done it can send a report that you can view on google maps of what you did.

Better yet, run MyTracks and fire up Pandora, streaming music from the internet while on a run being tracked!

    Wow that's so cool!
I'm download MyTracks NOW! (I already of Pandora. ^^)
