We have been wanting to try Lucille's Smokehouse Bar-B-Que for a long time.  Thanks to Wen's Plurk for the $5 off coupon.  We visited Lucille's for a BBQ lunch yesterday.

Lucille's is located inside The District.  They have a huge outdoor patio seating area.  It seems like a  perfect place for an outdoor summer BBQ party.

From our booth, we could see THE BBQ "Machine".

A chef was checking the temperature of the meat.  And we got a glimpse of how magic was made inside the oven.

Our waitress brought us two "jars" of water.  How cute!

Biscuit

Lucille's biscuits were sprinkled with sugar, and served with sweet apple butter.  This was one good biscuit!

BBQ Lunch Platter - Baby Back Ribs, Hot Link, Tri-Tip & Southern Braised Greens ($14.95)
Choice of Baby Back, or St. Louis spare Ribs or Beef rib and your choice of two of the following pulled pork, beef brisket, tri-tip, hot link, rib tips, one quarter chicken or smoked ham.

They have lunch special before 4pm, even on weekend. Nice!  We ordered two BBQ Lunch Platter to share, which means we could have 6 different items + 2 sides to try.  This plate consisted of Baby Back Ribs, Hot Link, Tri-Tip, with a side of Southern Braised Greens.  Baby Back Ribs had a sweet BBQ sauce on it, and it had a nice smokey flavor.  Hot link was a tad spicy, and very juicy.  Tri-Tip was super tender, and very very flavorful.  Southern Braised Greens was made with pieces of thick bacon, and it was bitter and delicious.

BBQ Lunch Platter - St. Louis Spare Ribs, Beef Brisket, One Quarter Chicken & Flame-Roasted Sweet Corn ($14.95)
Choice of Baby Back, or St. Louis spare Ribs or Beef rib and your choice of two of the following pulled pork, beef brisket, tri-tip, hot link, rib tips, one quarter chicken or smoked ham.

This plate had St. Louis Spare Ribs, Beef Brisket, 1/4 Chicken, with a side of Flame Roasted Sweet Corn.  St. Louis Spare Ribs was thinner than Baby Back Ribs, and the flavor tasted a bit like pork jerky.  The BBQ sauce wasn't as sweet as the one on Baby Back Ribs.  It was really good, too.  The chicken was super moist and tender.  How did they make chicken breast that tender?  It also had a very nice smokey flavor.  Beef Brisket was not as tender as the other meat.  But I think that's just the nature of the cut.  Sweet Corn was just yummy.  Even the watermelon was great.

The food was delicious.  We also had enough leftover for dinner.  When you join Lucille's eClub on their website, you can also get a $5 off coupon.  We will definitely be back again.  They have a 3 course dinner for 2 deal for $32.  I think we'll try that next time.
