[Mission Viejo] [Japanese] Sushi Zone

Sushi Zone
28251 Marguerite Pkwy #A
Mission Viejo, CA 92692
(949) 364-2878

We tried quite a few all you can eat sushi restaurants down in South Orange County. Sadly, we have been disappointed every time... until we found Sushi Zone.

Like all the other AYCE sushi restaurants in the area, Sushi Zone is also Korean owned. They offer a lot of rolls, but Dr. P and I enjoyed their traditional nigiri sushi the most.

Miso Soup

Yellowtail Sushi ($4.75)

Big pieces of fresh sashimi. Our sushi chef told us that the nigiri sushi they make for AYCE customers is exactly the same as customers who order separately. The same big piece of fish, and they don't try to give you a lot of rice to fill you up.

Albacore Sushi ($4.50)

Love the garlic ponzu sauce with Albacore sushi.

Macho Man Burrito ($10.95)
Tuna, salmon, avocado, cucumber, crab, w/ soy paper

The chef said Macho Man Burrito is their most popular roll. It was good, and portion was huge. Probably not ideal for AYCE though. You will get filled up fast.

Ika (Squid) Sushi ($4.25) / Surf Clam Sushi ($4.00)

We asked if the squid sushi comes with shiso leaves. The answer was no. But since we asked, our sushi chef made it especially for us with shiso leaves.

Tuna Tataki (Seared) Sushi ($4.75)

Super delicious Tuna Tataki Sushi. The sauce with a spicy sesame ponzu sauce.

Escolar (White Tuna) Sushi ($4.50)

I don't really know what kind of fish is Escolar. I wonder if it's "butter fish"? Because it tastes just like butter... soft, fatty, and creamy.

Salmon Collar

Love the Salmon Collar. I could eat 3 of these. Our chef said that sometimes he'll have this with a bowl of rice for lunch.

Cucumber Paradise ($11.95)
Crab, spicy tuna, avocado, salmon, albacore

I love rolls that use cucumber as wrap. This no rice roll was refreshing. Love it!

Tuna Tataki (Seared) Sushi ($4.75) / Albacore Sushi ($4.50)

My two favorite sushi, Tuna Tataki and Albacore.

Soy Bean

Salmon Sushi ($4.50)

Ika (Squid) Sushi ($4.25)

Eel Hand Roll ($6.95)

Eel was freshly grilled. The hand roll was super yummy.

Very happy we found this good AYCE sushi restaurant. Will be back again soon!!
