We've always enjoyed breakfast at Mimi's Cafe, but I've never tried their dinner before. I received an email coupon from them for dinner for 2 for $20. You get one shared appetizer and 2 entrees. The food seems to be French-inspired dishes.

I like the cute brick wall and fake balcony decor at Mimi's.

Bread

After we ordered, our waitress brought us a basket of bread. There were some ciabatta bread, and some the most delicious carrot cake. That carrot cake was unbelievably good. It was soft, moist, and not too sweet. I could eat a whole loaf! I couldn't get enough of the carrot cake. When our waitress offered us a refill, I just ask her if we could get another basket to take home. I had them for breakfast with coffee the next morning. Sooooo good!

Artichoke and Brie Fondue Dip ($6.49)
Creamy blend of artichoke hearts, brie, asiago and parmesan cheese with garlic baguette croutons.

We ordered all the dishes from their seasonal Paris dinner menu. For appetizer, we picked Artichoke and Brie Fondue Dip. I love the taste of brie cheese in the creamy dip. This was a really delicious dip. We didn't drink that night, but this would be perfect with a glass of iced white wine.

Chicken Madeira ($12.49)
Seared chicken topped with melted Swiss cheese and covered in a rich mushroom Madeira sauce. Served with mashed potatoes, and seasonal vegetables.

Dr. P ordered Chicken Madeira for his entree. The chicken breast was tender and juicy. I could taste a lot of wine flavor in the rich mushroom sauce. The sauce was really rich, which made us feel full after only 1/2 plate.

Butternut Squash Ravioli & Garlic Shrimp ($11.99)
Artisan butternut squash ravioli with garlic shrimp and spinach served in a tomato asiago cream sauce with Romano cheese.

I ordered Butternut Squash ravioli and Garlic Shrimp. The garlic shrimp was great. I just wish there were more of them. The butternut squash ravioli tasted sweet. The sauce was creamy and rich. So again, I got full just after eating half portion. Or maybe it was because I ate too much of that delicious carrot cake before?

Petite Triple Chocolate Brownie ($2.49)

The dinner for 2 deal didn't include dessert. We ordered a petite one to share. The Triple Chocolate Brownie with vanilla ice cream was the perfect ending for dinner. The warm brownie was moist and rich. We thought the petite size was actually perfect to be shared by 2 people.

That was a great dinner. Mimi's is always crowded for breakfast. But for dinner, the restaurant was quite empty. I wish more people will know they actually serve great dinner. Not only the food is good, the price is very reasonable (especially when you get a coupon). Remember to sign up to be on their email list to receive coupons. We would love to go back again!
