Back at Elephant Bar again. This time we didn't go for happy hour, but dinner instead.

It was a weeknight, and this place was completely packed. We had to wait for 20 minutes to get a table.

Santa Fe BBQ Chicken Salad ($8.95 $6.95)
Grilled BBQ chicken over shredded lettuce with sweet corn, black beans, diced tomatoes, Jack and cheddar cheese, fresh cilantro and tortilla strips tossed in ranch dressing and topped with our own BBQ sauce.

We had a coupon for three of their feature entrees. With the coupon, each entree was a few dollars cheaper. We decided to get all three to share. Santa Fe BBQ Chicken Salad sounded delicious from the description, but it was rather plain. Maybe they didn't use enough dressing? The salad had no flavor, and the chicken was a bit dry. Well, at least it seemed healthy I guess.

Szechwan Shrimp & Chicken in Spiced Garlic Sauce ($11.95 $8.95)
Wok-fried with broccoli, sweet peppers, bok choy and carrots. Served with your choice of steamed white or brown rice.

We were really surprised how good Szechwan Shrimp & Chicken in Spiced Garlic Sauce tasted. Dr. P said he was expecting your typical Americanized Chinese food with way too sweet sauce. Elephant Bar's Szechwan dish still had that Americanized taste to it, but it was done so right. The sauce was spicy and very flavorful. Lots of fresh vegetables, lots of shrimp, and lots of tender chicken. We both loved this one, and will order it again in the future.

Summer Adventure BBQ Platter ($15.95 $11.95)
Combination of St. Louis style Kona BBQ pork ribs, wood-fired BBQ chicken breast and BBQ shrimp. Served with ranch beans, rice, coleslaw, corn and a slice of fresh watermelon.

Summer Adventure BBQ Platter was just alright. The BBQ shrimp was really good. Ribs were good, but needed more sauce in my opinion. Chicken had good flavor, but it was dry. Or maybe the Szechwan Shrimp & Chicken was too good so everything else just tasted ok after that?

With coupon, we saved a total of $9. Nice!
