It was almost 3pm, and we haven't had lunch yet on a Saturday. We were both craving for some meat. So we thought of all you can eat Japanese BBQ at Gyu-Kaku. We called and found out their lunch ends at 4pm. Better get there quick!

Before we always got their $12.95/person lunch deal. It came with 4 kinds of meat and 3 vegetables. We thought that enough choices to get us satisfied and full. But they changed their menu. That $12.95 deal is still what it was, but they added unlimited champagne, hot sake and cold sake to their $19.95/person deal. All you can drink alcohol? We're so getting that one instead! Plus there are about 10 more items to choose from comparing to the cheaper choice. Score!

Cold Sake / Champagne

Give us some alcohol first, please!

We got to the restaurant around 3:30pm. Since lunch ends at 4pm, we had to order everything before 4pm, but we could stay to eat as long as we want to.

Bistro Harami

Harami is tender beef around the diaphragm. It tasted like filet mignon to me. Really soft and tender!

Kalbi Chuck Rib

Another really good cut of beef. Kalbi is fatty so it tastes really juicy.

Gyu-Tan

Gyu-Tan is beef tongue thinly sliced and seasoned with salt and pepper. It cooked quickly on the grill. Tasted really tender and yummy.

Shrimp Garlic

Shrimp Garlic was OMG good. This is a must get item at Gyu-Kaku. Each order has 4 shrimp. I think we had 6 orders and still didn't think it was enough.

Yakishabu

The flavor of Yakishabu tasted like Bistro Hirami, but hirami was a better cut of meat.

Toro Beef

Toro Beef was fatty, and pretty tasty.

Vegetables

Vegetables all came wrapped in foil, except zucchini. We got zucchini, broccoli, spinach, and sweet potatoes. The best one gotta be the spinach. They added some garlic in the spinach, and it was sooo good.

Fried Calamari

Fried food just tasted good with alcohol. Why is that?

Sukiyaki Bibimbap

The rice in sukiyaki bibimbap was really good, but the beef wasn't. It was thin and dry. The BBQ meat was much much better.

Garlic Noodles

We both liked the garlic noodles more than the rice. The noodle was chewy and full of garlic flavor.

Edamame

Too much meat! Gotta have a bit of veggie to balance the meal.

Ice Cream

You scream, I scream, ICE CREAM! We each got two scoops: green tea, sesame, lychee, blueberry cheesecake. Everything was yummy. Our favorite was the sesame ice cream.

Because we had to order everything at once, we over estimated ourselves and order a bit too much food. I don't think they really charge people extra for unfinished food. The people next to us had tons of leftover when they left. But we didn't want to waste food so we asked our waitress if we could take the food for to-go and pay extra for it. She was really nice and charged us for two orders of meat, and we took all of the leftover home. It was a really good deal for how much food (and alcohol) we had.

We were so drunk from the alcohol and couldn't drive home. Good there's a $3 movie theater in the same plaza. We had to chill in the movie theater to sober up before going home. It was fun watching Thor when you're buzzed. haha.... We really enjoyed our lunch there. Definitely will go back to eat and drink, and a movie afterward!
