[Walnut] [Japanese] Yama Bowl

Spring semester started this week.  I had my first day of school yesterday.... from 9am to 9pm!  I thought the first day would be short.  Wrong!  My professors from both classes had full lecture.  We even had lab for one of my classes.  By the time I finished my morning class, it was already 2:30pm and I was super hungry.

Chicken Bowl + California Roll + Drink Combo ($5.99)

I went across the street to find a place to eat.  Passed by this restaurant called Yama Bowl and saw the picture on their window for the daily combo special.  I was so hungry.  Chicken bowl + California roll sounded good to me.  Plus they had free wi-fi.

California Roll

California Roll was very standard.  Imitation crab meat and avocado inside the roll.  The roll was pretty big.  Just 4 rolls made me pretty full already.

Chicken Bowl

Teriyaki Chicken Bowl wasn't good at all.  The sauce was really salty, but lack flavor.  Chicken was alright, but there was no vegetable, just a few pieces of sliced carrot.  I was hoping for some cabbage or broccoli or something along that line.  They give you a log of rice though.

This restaurant serves what I called "college food".  The food was so-so with cheap ingredients, portion is big, and price is somewhat reasonable.  Their business was pretty good.  I think most college kids would be satisfied with the meal.  As for me, I don't think I'll return again.  And their wi-fi didn't even work....

On another note, I learned how to do interrupted square knot suture on my first day of surgical nursing class!  I thought my suture looked beautiful.  So next time my friends need suture, call me for free suture!  haha....

  2. I thought the last pic was a fancy bar of soap... then I realized what it was. So glad my baby can suture! :)

You better be careful about what you say to me from now on,
or I'll suture your mouth closed. haha....

  4. At first I thought the last photo was tuna too. I can only do square knot and not interrupted square knot. Quite unusual how your professors started full lecture on the first day. Usually first day=easy day.
I find it funny how the sushi is served on wood boards but the bowls are served on plastic.

I thought first day would be a easy day, too!
But I guess we have a lot of things to cover in class.
Also we would have midterms.... THEN lecture+lab. Usually testing day = short day. Not us.... :-(
