I am on a lot of eateries' e-mailing list.  I often get coupon offers from those restaurants, and they ALWAYS send you some kind of special deal for birthday.  I received a free entree offer from Daphne's Greek Cafe for my birthday month.  Last night we took the free offer and had a Greek dinner for two at http://www.eileenlikestoeat.com for under $10.

Lemon Chicken Soup ($3.19)
A Greek specialty - Avgolemono Soup with marinated chicken and rice. Served with grilled pita bread and tzatziki sauce.

Dr. P got the Three Course Dinner for $7.00.  For starter, the lady at the counter suggested Dr. P to pick Lemon Chicken Soup because it is the most expensive item out of the choices.  It normally costs $3.  The Lemon Chicken Soup tasted pretty lemony.  It tasted like sour chicken noodle soup.  There were some chicken and rice in the soup.  Dr. P like the sour flavor, but I didn't.

Hummus & Grilled Pita Starter ($1.00)

Dr. P ordered an extra starter because it was only $1.  But we burst into laughter when we saw how small the hummus container was.  The hummus came in those little condiment container, and it wasn't even completely full.  It also came with 4 slices of grilled pita bread.  The hummus was good.  But for how small it was, $1 is reasonable, but not such a good deal s it sounded.

Fresh Carved Gyros & Grilled Steak Ka-bob Combo ($8.79)

For my free entree, I got Fresh Carved Gyros & Grilled Steak Ka-bob Combo.  The steak kabob was really tasty.  I like the Greek salad and the tzatziki sauce a lot.  I didn't eat the carved gyros because it was too much meat for me.  Dr. P thought the gyros meat was a little bit dry, but had a lot of flavor.

Gyros Street Pita & Grilled Chicken Ka-bob

Dr. P picked Gyros Street Pita & Grilled Chicken Ka-bob for his three course dinner.  But I ate most of the gyros street pita.  The Greek "taco" was very tasty.  The pita bread was soft and chewy.  The sandwich was made with a few pieces of gyros meat, a slice of tomato, cucumber, and feta cheese.  Yum!  The chicken kabob was really good as well.  Meat was tender and flavorful.

Baklava ($1.00)

Baklava came with the three course dinner.  I only had a bite, and I tasted honey.  Dr. P liked it and ate the whole thing.  He's trying to gain weight, and I'm trying to lose weight.  Perfect!  haha....

I had Daphne's Greek Cafe before, and thought their food was tasty.  Dr. P had Daphne's for the first time last night.  He thought the food was pretty good for its price.  It wasn't your gourmet Greek food, but definitely very good for fast food.  If you like to receive coupons from Daphne's, don't forget to sign up to be on their email list.

  1. I love their kabobs. So good.

I thought their chicken kabob tasted better than House of Kabob's.
And it only costs about 1/2 of House of Kabob's.

  2. I had the half chicken plate for the free birthday entree last year. It's some of the best roasted chicken out there I think. Flavorful, tender meat and juicy! Their email club is good. The $3.99 fire feta burger with fries is so yummy and somehow it tastes even better months after months. Kinda weird but it's all good!

I love their half chicken plate. I used to get that all the time.
But as I am trying to lose weight right now, I went online to look at the nutritional value and found out that plate is 1400 calories. haha...
That will be my indulgence when I actually lose the weight.
I thought the pita burger looks good. Gotta try that next time.

  3. Dr.P is living a dream of mine....I can only wish that I would be thin enough to the point that I need to GAIN weight! (I would have so much fun putting on the lbs)

haha I think he's living a dream of a lot of people.
Definitely mine too. I see the way he eats, and not gaining weight.
Then look at how I eat so little but still gain weight. It's just not fair....

  4. Baklava is my favorite! It's insanely sweet, so I don't know if most Asians would like it, but the honey is my favorite part!

It's so sweet that sometimes it hurts my teeth.
But I still like it! ^^
